Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ! We're pleased to share with you the wonderful things the Lord has been doing in our lives and ministry.
Family: In February, we celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary with flowers, cards, dinner out just the two of us, and going away together for one night to a nearby place about 25 minutes from where we live. As usual, we remembered our wedding day fondly with gratitude in our hearts as we looked back at our wedding album and our wedding video. We also enjoyed a nice time together at a botanical garden, as seen in the picture to the left and other photos in the album at the link below. That was a nice getaway for us and our marriage. Although it was brief, it was a memorable time.
As we mentioned last month, our son Christopher began his new IT help desk job on December 1st. He has now been at that company for almost three months, and is doing very well, enjoying his work. The Lord also provided him with his first car, a used 2007 vehicle that has only had one other owner before him. He's been enjoying it a lot.
We also celebrated our
son Joseph's seventeenth birthday in February with cards, a special, homemade dessert, a gift, and prayer for him. He is continuing his advanced
studies in Institutional Locksmithing, which is going well by
the grace of God. His goal is to complete his current studies by March 6th. Meanwhile he is continuing with his regular homeschool studies.
On the same day that we celebrated his birthday, Len also celebrated his 40th spiritual birthday in Christ. By the grace of God, the Lord has kept him for 40 years now. You can see his testimony here in this video, recorded a couple years ago at a gospel rescue mission in Texas.
Ministry: As we continue to administer our discipleship training school (DTS), now in its tenth year, we'd like to update you on the good things that God is doing with it. By the grace of God, we currently have disciples actively training in four nations including Kenya, South Sudan, and Uganda.
We continue working closely with three of our graduates in South Sudan, Uganda, and Nigeria, as they labor in the harvest in their respective countries. They all completed our Phase II campaign at the end of January, in order to conserve the harvest they had reaped during their Phase I evangelistic campaign in the fall. On February 1, they each began their Phase III campaigns to complete the Great Commission.
Many of the activities are the same in Phase III as in Phase II, such as people still getting saved, baptized, filled with the Holy Spirit, baptized with fire, receiving deliverance, healing, miracles, etc., as the new believers and existing ones continue to be discipled, attend Life Transformation Groups (LTGs), and become part of the new fellowships being planted.
However, the new focus is on discipleship, multiplication of disciples, and leadership development, (as well as possibly establishing more new fellowships as the need arises). Once we have finished appointing elders in these fellowships, they will serve under the oversight of these three brothers, who have all been trained in our DTS and have years of ministry experience.
Their testimonies of what God did as they concluded Phase II are found at the following links:
Meanwhile the testimonies of the amazing things the Lord has been doing in their Phase III campaigns are found at the links below, which we hope you will take a moment to read:
Uganda Highlights
He wrote: "We have concluded Kampala phase II today, and starting phase III. By the grace of God, eleven new fellowships have been established in Uganda during our Phase II ministry campaign." He continued, "In every location we have followed up, there are testimonies of the Lord's accomplishments, healings, deliverances, more salvations, etc. The most feared witch doctor Bosco got born again with his wife Esther, who also got healed of leg pain, whole family came to the Lord in Acida location. A man Moses, his wife Angela and their 10 children came to the Lord during our phase II visit."
He said that in Kampala, the capital, "It was a powerful move of the Holy Spirit as everyone spoke in tongues." Moreover, "Bena, an elderly woman who had been sick for 3 years, not seeing, was healed from eye disease."
In the village of Otucopi, where one of the new fellowships was planted, "William was delivered from curses. He was always unsuccessful in whatever he undertook to do. The Lord delivered him, as he experienced the touch of the power of God!" In the village of Awoja, "There have been deliverances from witchcraft for a lady called Deborah, as well as healing and deliverance from epilepsy for Daniel." Praise the Lord!
In summary, he recently reported on his first week of Phase III ministry that ended on February 7th, which included visits to four fellowships out of the eleven new ones that have been established. In these four fellowships with a combined total of 83 believers, there have been 33 salvations during the week of his report, there are 29 ongoing LTGs, five elders identified, five water baptisms conducted, and 20-30 people baptized with the Holy Spirit.
Please continue to pray for the ongoing work that brother Grace and his team are doing in Uganda. One of the areas of special need for prayer is for safe travels and clear roads during the current rainy season when roads are very muddy.
Nigeria Highlights
Brother John in Nigeria shared a praise report in February. Here are some excerpts from it:
"Good morning, Brother Len.
By the mercies of God, I can report that, by human assessment, my Phase II assignment is now 100% completed. A total of nine fellowship centers have been established across nine different locations, including the prison."
In the urban, Liberty Road location where one of the nine fellowships has been planted, "Water baptism and deliverance has been conducted."
He continued, "Esther was delivered from the spirit of madness and demonic manipulation. Sister Precious’ son was delivered from the spirit of gambling and native doctor spell. Fortune was delivered from demonic oppression involving witchcraft manipulation. God has done a significant work in this location. Many Catholics in the fellowship are beginning to gain clarity through sound and structured teachings."
He said that in the Ohong fellowship, "They have been baptized with the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues, and have also received holy fire baptism. Several deliverances have been recorded...LTGs are ongoing among those who can read. And the elders have been officially set in place." Moreover, in addition to the Ohong fellowship, the disciples have received the baptism with the Holy Spirit and fire at three of the other fellowships, as well.
In summary, nine new fellowships have been planted with a total of over 138 disciples. Many have been water baptized and received deliverance. Many have also been baptized with the Holy Spirit and fire, and numerous LTGs have been started. In addition to that, elders have also been set in place in six of the fellowships.
Glory to God. Please continue to join us through your prayers in helping support what God is doing through brother John and his team in Nigeria.
South Sudan Highlights
"Dear bro Len,
Thanks for your prayers, they are really helping a lot. I am currently in western Equatorial state. The journey was longer than expected due to very bad roads, insecurity threats as we were traveling. It forced us to have many stop overs because we are being advised by the community not to ride late hours. We could go, and reach somewhere, the community we find there would stop us and say let's not go forward (due to dangers ahead). So it could force us to stop over and even sleep there, then embark on our journey the following morning. It took us three days to reach the state.
"I thank God we were happily welcomed by the elder here, and other brothers and sisters in the Lord. We organized a revival prayer meeting where we are meeting from 2:00pm to 5:00pm, and I have people being delivered and filled with the Holy Spirit. Very many believers had scattered, but by the grace of God we have managed to reach them out, and many are coming back for fellowship. I will share with you my plans and programs as I am still on this side (of the country) for prayers, and guidance.
"We have also had serious challenges with power, there's completely no power this side (of the country) . They're using generators, and when you take the phone for charging, it takes really long to be full. Sometimes you are required to leave it there for one full day to two days. Sometimes there's fear that you may also lose the phone. Secondly the network is so poor. We are also facing serious threatening messages from the rebel groups in the area, the threats come to the entire state. It may limit us from reaching some communities. I have also conducted burial of one gentleman, who went and just threw himself in water. The river is called Nakpong. During that time, five people gave their lives to Jesus. I also went and prayed there because I was told that that river is evil, and many people have died the same way in the same river."
Praise the Lord for what He is doing through brother Henry, keeping him safe in some very dangerous places that most of us could never reach with the gospel. Please continue to join us upholding him in prayer, especially for protection, the power of the Holy Spirit, wisdom, and grace.
"Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed His word by the signs that accompanied it." (Mk 16:20)
Len sent out his monthly edition of the Old News That's Still Fresh in February, as he usually does each month. We hope you'll take a moment to read the content that he has published.
