May Update 2015

Greetings from North Carolina in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ!  We're pleased to share with you what the Lord has been doing in our lives and ministry.

Family: In April, we continued with our search for another place to live until we ran out of time.  We encountered more difficulties with this move than in any move either of us have ever made before.  We were approved to rent a place, but our negotiations with the rental agency and owner failed, so we walked away from the table.  In the end, by the grace of God, we found another place. And within less than a week before we had to move out of the guesthouse, we received approval to lease it. God provided a place for us to stay at the "eleventh hour". It's a two-story, four-bedroom, two and a half bath home with a private back yard. It even has a playground for the children. Praise the Lord!

But even once we were approved and signed the lease, we encountered many trials and difficulties in the process of moving.  For example, something happened with our mover during the last thirty minutes before our scheduled move time, and we were left without help.  All our belongings were packed and ready to be loaded into a truck, the guesthouse was cleaned and we were ready to go on time, but we now had nobody to move us, and no truck. Len asked a few neighbors and called a local pastor, but nobody was able to help us. He decided to rent a truck and managed to find a mover who could move us the next morning, whom we will call Bill.  So we stayed an extra night at the guesthouse, still within our allowed time limit to stay until April 30th.

The next day we moved without a problem, and the Lord gave Len an opportunity to share his testimony with the mover that rode in the truck with him, whom we will call Don.  It turned out that both Don and Bill are Christian men, but Bill said he is not walking with the Lord as he should.  He also asked Len to pray for Don, as well. It seemed like the Lord had put it together, and we were all very grateful for their help, as well as our time of sharing together. Praise the Lord.

Meanwhile, we are shopping for furniture.  Thank the Lord that the place we are leasing came with all the major appliances, including a washer and dryer.  But we have been staying in furnished homes since we returned from Hungary, and we don't have furniture of our own, except some office furniture. So it's like starting all over again.  We are managing fine with air mattresses, folding chairs, and folding tables that we bought to get us through temporarily for a few weeks or months until we can furnish the place.  Meanwhile some of us are still living out of suitcases, but nobody is complaining. It's an adventure! Please pray the Lord will help us find all that we need.

Since we have been in this house, the children have begun to make new friends and play with them.  One of the young girls in the neighborhood told Christopher that she hasn’t gone to church in a while.  Later, while the children were talking with her, Faith asked her, “May I ask you something?” The girl said she could, so Faith asked, “Do you know that Jesus loves you?” The girl said she does. Then Faith asked, “Do you know Him as your Lord and Savior?” The girl nodded. “Good,” Faith said. Sometime during the conversation, the girl said, “I beg my parents to let me go to church, but my mother and father are busy.”  Pray that the Lord will enable this girl and even her parents to eventually join us for church here in our home.

Meanwhile the children have resumed home schooling and will soon be taking their final exams, Lord willing. One advantage of living here is that there is a home school coop in the area that is connected with a local Church. And a nearby Christian neighbor, who came and introduced herself to Jennifer, mentioned that she home schools her children as well. So we are grateful for the new relationships we are already beginning to build here.

In May, two days after we moved to the new location, we celebrated Christopher's tenth birthday.  Since we didn't have chairs, we were sitting on milk crates around a folding camping table.  So that's why he appears a little low in the birthday cake photo above.  But we had fun with it and it was a joyful time, as you will see if you look at the additional photos at the link below.

Ministry: We are now living in a mostly military community that is close to Fort Bragg, home of the Airborne and Special Forces Operations. The Special Warfare Center is where the U.S. Army’s special operations warriors are trained and prepared for assignments around the world.  According to Army Technology, "Fort Bragg serves 52,280 active duty soldiers, 12,624 reserve components and temporary duty students, 8,757 civilian employees, 3,516 contractors and 62,962 active duty family members. It is also home to 98,507 army retirees and family members."  It's the largest military base of any country in the world!

We have been told that seventy-five percent of the population in the subdivision where we now live is comprised of military residents, and perhaps the majority of the remaining twenty-five percent are retired military personnel. Many people are able to retire from the military in their early forties, so most of the community seems to be our age or younger.

Before we moved here, as we were praying about where we should live, we spent some time together waiting on the Lord about that. Len sensed the Lord was saying it would be within a forty-five minute radius of the guesthouse where we were living.  But he didn't want to consider moving south or southeast of the guesthouse toward Fort Bragg, because we had read that the crime rate is very high in that area.

Nevertheless, Len sensed the Lord may want to use us to reach and minister to military servicemen and women (he himself got saved as a young soldier in the Army), so he felt he could not rule out the possibility of living in that area. He figured that if it turned out that the Lord was speaking the same thing to Jennifer, then he would take that as a confirmation and he would be open to such a move. And as we later discussed what we each received from the Lord in prayer that night, we did in fact both sense that the Lord may have us to minister to the military servicemen in the Fort Bragg area.  Neither of us had any natural desire within ourselves to move into this area, but we felt that we were being led by the Lord to do so.

The home we moved into is forty minutes south of where we were living at the guesthouse, and about twenty minutes north of Fort Bragg. So the fact that we ended up in this area seems to be precisely according to the direction we received from the Lord, and it seems to be a step forward into the territory where the Lord wants us during this next year.  We feel as though we have been divinely and strategically positioned.

Many of these people around us are in positions of influence and are often deployed to various places around the world. So the potential for multiplying disciples is great, and it's no wonder there seemed to be such strong opposition to us coming here. Please pray that the Lord would place military people in our path who are ready for the gospel, and who will be later be used by the Lord to reach many others for Christ here and in the uttermost parts of the earth.

We have already begun to get a taste of that as we have started to meet our neighbors.  As we took a walk in the neighborhood one night recently, we stopped and talked to one neighbor, who was sitting on his front porch. As we spent time getting acquainted with him and his wife, Len had the opportunity to share the Lord with him. We learned that he is an Army officer who recognizes that he needs the Lord. We both appreciated how he was honest with himself and us about his spiritual condition. So we are praying for these precious people, whom we will call "Steve" and "Nancy", and are looking forward to the chance to share further with them, as the Lord allows.

Meanwhile, we still believe the Lord will continue to have Len go on short-term ministry trips overseas for the time being, and continue with the Christian literature ministry online.  Len continues to receive encouraging notes from readers regarding his articles.  One reader commented by saying:
"Dear Len, Thank you very much for your incredible teaching. Be blessed abundantly."  Praise the Lord for the way He is touching lives for eternity through this ministry.

"Not to us, LORD, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness." (Ps 115:1)

April Update 2015

Greetings from North Carolina in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ!  We're pleased to share with you what the Lord has been doing in our lives and ministry.

Family: In March and April, we continued diligently with our search for another place to live. At the time of this newsletter, we have less than two weeks to move out of the guesthouse we are living in. We actually should move within one week from now, in order to allow for last minute follow up tasks that may occur after our move!

It has been challenging to find a place, but our application was just approved for a specific rental property located within twenty minutes of Fort Bragg, which is three quarters of an hour's drive from where we live now. It has three bedrooms, two and a half baths, plus a bonus room, and a huge back yard. It certainly seems like it would meet our basic requirements, and we sense the Lord wants us in that specific neighborhood for His glory.

We also hope to negotiate with the owner on the monthly rate, as well as other aspects of the lease, now that we have received approval on our application. So we continue with packing for the move, as well as house cleaning, while we negotiate for a better deal.  Please pray the Lord will help us to get this home under the best possible arrangements that can be negotiated, according to His perfect will.

Meanwhile, we are to a certain extent also shopping out furniture and appliances.  We were blessed to receive some gifts of towels and a dinnerware set from a deacon and his wife that are part of the church, which rents the guesthouse to us. And a pastor's wife who manages the guesthouse has offered to let us take the pillows and buy us a couple sets of bed linen. Praise the Lord!

In March Len did have that painful tooth extracted, so thanks for your prayers about that, as everything went well.  Thank the Lord for that!

Ministry:  You may remember one of Len's Hungarian disciples, named Gabor, had moved to Germany without his wife and children, in order to try to make a better living for his family. He did that around the same time we were returning to the States in May 2013.  He visits his wife and children in Hungary for one week per month plus some extra weeks for an extended period during the winter.  They also visit him occasionally in Germany. Well, we have some good news to report. He wrote to Len in March and stated in part: "I'm in Germany at the moment, till next Friday! Kriszti and Bendi will join me in the end of May!...With love, Gabor."  So this is great news. Praise the Lord that their long awaited reunion will soon take place next month. Please pray that it will go smoothly and nothing will interfere with it.

Len received an encouraging note from brother Mapindu in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Africa.  he wrote:

"Dear Leonard Lacroix, I greet you in Jesus' Name. Are you in a good health? I would like to inform you that your emails are useful in evangelism. We hope we will continue to share the Good News with you because it is for us an encouragement. May God bless you. Reverend Mapindu Kibibi Jean Pierre."

Len continues to write articles and minister to those who reach out to him for help through the blogs, such as the backslidden man who indicated he wanted to return to Christ.  Unfortunately, that man in Texas, named Dan, never did speak with Len in spite of his attempts to reach him. It seems that he doesn't have the willpower to take the first step towards repentance and returning to the Lord.

We also continue to touch lives for Jesus by witnessing to people locally. We did get to witness to Melanie, the widow of the man we witnessed to last fall, named Eddie, who died four weeks after we had spoken to him. In response to our attempts to reach out to her, we observed that she has been rather evasive.  So Len only briefly shared the gospel with her, and she politely listened, but showed no interest unfortunately.  We also had the opportunity to share at length with a realtor, named Linda, who showed us a home.  She is one of many who has been deceived by the corrupted New World Translation of the Jehovah's Witnesses, and their false teachings.

On a more strategic note, we believe we are receiving some new direction from the Lord in terms of the next step for our ministry, in addition to what we have already reported to you in the "Ministry" section of our February Update 2015. This new direction pertains to stateside ministry to a targeted people group in North Carolina, during the periods when Len is not traveling on short-term trips. The Lord seems to be confirming what we received in prayer, as we take steps of simply obedience. So we will report on that later as it develops further.  Please continue to pray for the Lord's will to be done and for Him to help us transition into the next phase of our ministry.  We seek to be led by the Holy Spirit.

"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God." (Ro 8:14)

Or else, if this is not the one, then for another four-bedroom, two-or-more-bath home for rent within our price range.
2. For the Lord to provide us with all the various accouterments we will need to furnish and equip it. 
3. For the Lord to give Len guidance and provision regarding his planned, short-term trips later this year to Malaysia and the United Kingdom. 
4. For the Lord to send his angels with Len’s messages to those who need them, and for an open heaven over them when they receive his messages. 
5. For the Lord to help Gabor move his family to Germany smoothly and that nothing will interfere with those plans.
6. For the Lord to put a hedge of protection around our ministry president, Dr. Stenhouse, and multiply to him an abundance of grace, mercy, peace, and wisdom, as well as grant him good health. 
7. For the Lord to open new doors of opportunity for ministry for us, and that we would be fruitful.
8. For the Lord to continue to raise up new faith partners.
9. For the Lord to provide for us.

March Update 2015

Greetings from North Carolina in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ!  We're pleased to share with you what the Lord has been doing in our lives and ministry.

Family: In February, Faith composed and recorded a new song all by herself, which is excellent.  You can listen to it online at this link for He is My Rock.

Hope also recorded a song that Len got from the Lord many years ago, called Someone's Watching Over Me.  The Lord gave Hope another nugget of wisdom that we posted on her Words of Hope blog, called We All Need the Mercy of God.

The children continue to do well in home school.  Joseph has been using his new writing skills to write things like, "Jesus is God," "God is love," "Jesus is love," and "Jesus is Lord." And the children have recently added some new artwork to A Brush with Life. You can find their Recent Artwork here.

In March we also celebrated Len's forty-ninth birthday.  Notice the bright glow in the picture above from all the candles! It just gets brighter and brighter, although Jennifer spared him too much brightness by using four candles beside a group of nine candles. With his age has also come the difficulty of having a painful, abscessed tooth.  He has been prayerfully considering whether to get it extracted or have a root canal. As of the date this newsletter is released he has made an appointment to have a root canal at the end of the month. Please pray that will go well.

Meanwhile, we have continued diligently with our search for another place to live. At the time of this newsletter, we have less than six weeks to move out of the guesthouse we are living in, and the church has informed us it is a firm date!  Initially when we saw that owning a home and making mortgage payments to the bank is cheaper than renting a home and making payments to a landlord, we had planned on buying instead of renting.  But now after praying about it, we feel the Lord may be cautioning us not to go into debt, since debt is not of God.  Therefore, we have redirected our focus on homes for rent in North Carolina. We need a four-bedroom, two-or-more-bath home within our price range, which will need to be quite limited due to our income level being what it is.

Once we find a place and move in, we will need to furnish it from A to Z with furniture, appliances, utensils, cooking ware, dinnerware, lawn equipment, and every other accoutrement a home needs, since we do not own most of these things any more after being overseas for nearly five years. The Lord will provide all our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus, as we trust Him one day at a time. This is a major need that we are requesting prayer for at this time.  Please join us in praying specifically for this, so we can be moved into a new place before April 30th.

Ministry:  Len is still in contact with the pastors from Burma, regarding a possible ministry trip sometime this year.  The visa issue seems to be the main issue right now, and it is not a small one.  He proposed the idea of meeting the pastors in Malaysia, since no visa would be required for Len to go there. They have both expressed an interest in that idea, and Len has been in contact with friends in Malaysia about such a trip, most likely to happen in the fall, to see if they could host him and these pastors.   Please pray for the Lord's will to be done.

The Lord continues bringing to us new friends from other parts of the world as well, such as a sister from South Africa named Susan Waigwa, who reads Len's articles and corresponds with us occasionally. She wrote to us in February the following note:

"Just thought of writing to tell you that may the Lord bless you greatly for the wonderful work He is doing in you and through your ministry.  I love and enjoy reading your blogs.  It is very interesting that I always think of your family as part of my family.  I never cease to pray for you brethren.  I love the way you approach and teach about holiness and righteousness.  I have found a Caucasian family (yourselves) from another mother who have the same spirit and mind like me and are headed the same direction with me.  I have tried sharing your articles and have been met with opposition, but I pray that the light of Jesus will shine in the dark parts of those that I have shared with and they will bow their knee to holiness and righteousness. God bless you greatly and continue.  The best that I can do is pray for you because I am not able to help financially."

Len also communicated with a young man named Divad, who was reading and commenting on a number of his blogs.  At first, Divad seemed skeptical, but later he came to realize the truth after diligently searching God's Word.  He eventually wrote about this in a comment on the article, Sins That Will Keep You From Heaven, saying:

"Thanks for the encouragement; through my searching, GOD has been giving me quite a few revelations, recently, and I think I'm really coming to terms with the gravity of this Word that I've never encountered in the Church before."

Len also received an email in February from a backslidden Christian named Dan.  He wrote:

"Mr. LaCroix, I am backslidden, but I want to return to Christ.  But I cannot seem to find the willpower to turn from my sin and return to Christ.  Is there any hope for me?  Would you possibly be available to talk and pray with me?  I thank you for your writings and desire to do God's work.  Thank you, Daniel."

You may remember a very poor lady named Elizabeth and her mother, who gave their lives to Jesus in Hungary in December 2012 when we visited their home.  At that time we had prayed for her to be healed, and she felt in her body that she was being healed.  However, she continued to be very ill since then whenever we would occasionally check on her. Last month on February 12th, Len was led to send an email to brother Gabor in Hungary to see how Elizabeth  was doing. He wrote back on the 17th to inform Len that she had died the very same day that Len had written to ask about her! It seems like the Lord was letting us know that she made it home safely.  He said she had spent her last weeks in the hospital in really bad shape. Gabor and others there had begun to organize baptizing her, as she had a strong desire to get baptized! But in the end they were too late, and did not manage to do so before she died.

Len also received a very encouraging email from sister Rachael Mushala in Zambia, whom Len has previously written about in numerous articles, including Rachael Mushala Testimony of Hell and Rachael Mushala Second Testimony of Hell.

She said, "I met a prophet and he told me about you. I was amazed.”  Len asked her to elaborate, so she first indicated all the accurate things this prophet said to her about herself and her sister by phone, although she had never met him yet.  Those things positively confirmed her prophetic ministry. Then when she met for fellowship outside his home on March 7, this is what happened. She stated: "We were outside the house, when the pastor came. He told me, 'When I was approaching the house, when I saw you, God showed me that you are a seer. You have the grace to see visions.And you also have the grace to receive messages from angels.'" She explained that this pastor is a Zambian man in a small town near the city where she lives, and the Lord uses him greatly.

She continued, "Then we began talking about the messages and visions. And he told me that its very important those messages are gotten out to as many people as possible. Then he told me that God was showing him that there's a man who supported us so much and really promoted the messages and helped to get them out. That's you! God remembers you. I was amazed because he doesn't even know about you or your blogsite."  Praise the Lord for remembering us!

That happened during the weekend of Len's birthday, and some other events also happened to her that weekend, which confirmed some things the Lord was speaking to Len at that time.  He has written about them in Rachael Mushala Third Testimony of Hell. We hope you don't miss it.

Administrative: The Directors of Doulos Missions International have recently voted unanimously to appoint to the board three new members, one of which is Jennifer, who is now serving in the office of Secretary. The other two people are British brothers who have known each other for twenty-seven years.

Olugbenga Oladejo

One of those brothers is Olugbenga Oladejo, a Nigerian-born man, who is the pastor of Complete in Christ Church in Peterborough, England. He has been married to his wife Hope for twelve years, and together they have two daughters. He has a great big heart of love, a wonderful call of God upon his life, and the Lord uses him in powerful ways to touch the lives of people for Jesus Christ. Sometimes people come from a distance to see him for deliverance or they call him for counseling and prayer. He became a Chartered Accountant in 1999, which is the equivalent to a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the USA. He later decided to change career to become Software Engineer. Then in 2008 he obeyed the Lord's previous call on his life into ministry.  He and Len have become great friends, and it is with pleasure that we welcome him to the board.  You may recall that Len recently wrote an article about him entitled, A Warning for Married Christian Couples.

Omolade Moses Alabi

The other brother is a small business owner in London, England, named Omolade Moses Alabi.  He was born in England, but raised in Nigeria. He has been married for twenty years to his wife, Celestina. Together they have four children, three boys and a girl. He gave his life to the Lord Jesus in 1988, and is currently forty-eight years old. Len recently write an article about his amazing testimony, called Born Again to New Life - Omolade Moses Alabi.

The addition of Jennifer and these two brothers has strengthened our ministry board.

"Not to us, Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness." (Ps 115:1)

February Update 2015

Greetings from North Carolina in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ!  We're pleased to share with you what the Lord has been doing in our lives and ministry.

 Family: In February we had a lot to celebrate, including our eighteenth wedding anniversary, Joseph's sixth birthday, and Len's twenty-ninth spiritual birthday.

The children continue to do well in home school and have recently added some new artwork to A Brush with Life. Meanwhile, we have begun in earnest our search for another place to live. At the time of this newsletter, we have little more than eight weeks to move out of the guesthouse we are living in, and the church has informed us it is a firm date!  So we've been online, diligently searching for homes to rent. But in terms of the monthly payment, they are typically more expensive to afford than making mortgage payments on a low-budget, purchased home that we would own. We are grateful that Len has the VA loan benefit, which we have used in the past when we owned a home. That allows us the benefit of zero money down on a home.

So we have redirected our search into the area of inexpensive homes for sale in North Carolina, since those in New Hampshire are out of our range. We need a four-bedroom, two-or-more-bath home within our price range, which will need to be quite limited due to our income level being what it is.  Currently we are in the process of getting pre-approved for a loan, and cannot yet begin scheduling home showings until we get that.

Once we purchase a place and move in, we will need to furnish it from A to Z with furniture, appliances, utensils, cooking ware, dinnerware, lawn equipment, and every other accoutrement a home needs, since we do not own most of these things any more after being overseas for nearly five years. The Lord will provide all our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus, as we trust Him one day at a time. This is a major need that we are requesting prayer for at this time.  Please join us in praying specifically for this, so we can be moved into a new place before April 30th.

“Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life." (Mk 10:29-20).

Ministry:  During the past month Len has been very busy primarily with important administrative matters for Doulos Missions International, including a board meeting, discussions with board members, organizational reporting, purchase of accounting software and training videos, as well as transitioning our home office in NH.  The Lord has faithfully provided for us in these areas in many ways since we last wrote to you.

Denis

For example, Denis Lacroix, our bookkeeper has agreed to continue throughout the remainder of this year in that role, and Travis Claypool has volunteered to take over for him when he resigns.  We also have a plan in place for a smooth transition of the duties to Travis. Praise the Lord!

Denis has also volunteered to handle all our mail that we receive at our post office box, and make the bank deposits.  We have also offered all our partners who send paper-checks in the mail to try the optional method of electronic payments, in order to reduce the incoming mail and the need for bank deposits.  This is always optional and not required, but for those who elect to switch to electronic it will help to automatic and streamline our processes. As always, we will continue to receive paper checks for those who prefer to give that way.  These are some of the ways the Lord has provided and helped us throughout this past month.  God is good!

Meanwhile, Len is still in contact with one of the pastors from Burma, discussing a possible ministry trip there sometime this year.  The visa issue seems to be the main issue right now, and it is not a small one. Please pray for the Lord's will to be done.

Concerning the invitation to Pakistan, we feel we have received some direction. In the character investigation process, or vetting of the pastor that invited him, Len has discovered some red flags that have put this opportunity completely on hold.  We will leave it at that for now.

We mentioned last month that Len had witnessed to a man from Morocco named Abdel.  He promised to read what we gave him when he had time, check out the More Than Dreams videos, and call Len to discuss it afterward. Jennifer saw him recently at the store and he said to tell Len that he still plans to get together to discuss these things. Please pray that he will examine the claims of Christ, believe the gospel, get in touch with Len, and give his life to Jesus.

As we previously mentioned, we feel that the direction the Lord has given us is for us to be based in the States and for Len to do short-term trips overseas. His writing ministry, producing online Christian literature, and distributing it monthly to pastors, elders, and laborers around the world, is now a major emphasis of our ministry.  These articles cover many topics, including the glorious gospel, evangelism, discipleship, prayer, fasting, intercession, worship, spiritual warfare, preaching, leadership, theology, and many more.

But the main topics the Lord has led us to emphasize during the past three years are holiness, righteousness, and truth.  We continue to lay great emphasis on these areas while still upholding the importance of the others, as the Lord has us serving Him by helping the Bride to make herself ready for Christ's return. He is calling His people to prepare for His coming, and that is precisely what we are doing. This ministry has always been about making disciples who multiply disciples and developing leaders who multiply leaders, and that continues to be our mission by focusing on these areas that we have mentioned through the creative means the Lord is making available to us.

Our beloved ministry President, Dr. Andrew Stenhouse, is a retired medical doctor with over fifty years of experience as a physician.  He has been walking with the Lord since he was a teenager, and received the call from God to the medical field as a young college student of geology, when the Lord spoke to him in church through an audible voice.  He still hears from the Lord quite well, and since his retirement from medicine, he is now focused specifically on intercession.  He has a map of the world in front of him as he prays, and prayer changes the course of history. Please pray for him, as he is a wealth of wisdom and godly counsel for us.

Dr. Stenhouse asked Len to let everyone know through our newsletter about our current emphasis on holiness, righteousness, and truth, as we have just outlined for you in this update.  He believes like we do that these are the last days, and that the people of God must now prepare in holiness for the Lord's return. Therefore, he fully supports our emphasis in this area. As he often does with Len's articles, he read the recent one titled, A Warning for Christian Married Couples, and he strongly agrees that this is a very important message from the Lord for the church at this time. If you have questions or concerns about these matters, please read Restored Truth, as well as A Warning to the Nay Sayers, and take it to the Lord in prayer.  The Lord will be faithful to give discernment and understanding to you, if you ask for it.

Since we began our new emphasis three years ago, we have been persecuted a lot for the work we are doing. Even friends, family, and ministry partners who were near to us have walked away.  May the Lord have mercy on them. Yet we still have some true friends, whom the Lord has also given us, who refuse to leave us or forsake us. They refuse to engage in division.  For example, like one dear older brother in Christ, who emphatically assured Len of his continued support despite the rejection we may be receiving from others. And the Lord has also brought wonderful, new friends and ministry partners into our lives as well, who love holiness and righteousness, which we are very grateful for.  Some of those are in the United Kingdom; therefore, we are praying about Len making a ministry trip there later this year.

The Lord is also bringing to us new friends from other parts of the world as well, such as a young, twenty-nine-year old man from India named Jai wrote to Len with a great word of encouragement about how he agreed with the article for married couples.  Part of what he said was, "Brother Len, I strongly agree with what you said [that it] is from our Lord and from [His] Word, which is so true. May our Lord God bless all your efforts to help the Bride of Christ. You have great reward, brother. All glory to God."

He continued, "...This subject is debatable in most of the churches who love falsehood (lukewarm followers of Christ)...If we carry JESUS, the most holy of holies (Spirit of GOD ), how much more should we be holy compared to the worldly, so-called religious people."  He also said, "...I have started to work among the Muslim Evangelism & among International Students, even [among the] Roman Catholic community, as I come from that background.  [The Lord] enabled me to save an Arab, he got baptised recently, [and] soon will be baptised with Holy Spirit [with the] gift of tongues...Please pray for the persecution in India among the missionaries and churches. God is purifying the body of Christ. We should endure and be faithful till the end. You will be in my prayer list for sure, brother Len. Take Care. With love of GOD, Jai." 

Likewise, a pastor from Portugal also wrote to Len saying, "This article is very good indeed and it clarifies most of the doubts about how can a married Christian couple should behave in their matrimonial bed....God bless you! I'm pastor Luis Guerreiro from Portugal. I will wait for an answer send me an email. I would like also to know more about your biblical studies."

A sister we know in New Hampshire wrote in response to the article for married couples, "Hi Jen and Len, Thank you so much for your message of love and encouragement. We are also sensing that the day of the Lord's return is closer then ever and we all know that it's just a matter of time, and we His church need to be focused, alert, and extremely attentive and prepared for His coming. Its not time for the church to be the sleeping giant, but its time for the church to Wake up, rise, and pray for the salvation of its people. I sense this New Year will be a year of God's preparation and refining of His church. The Lord will be removing everything and everyone that is not wholeheartedly serving Him with reverential fear and trembling.  He is seeking a people of sincere relationship to Him and He will purge and remove the church of its idols and everything that stands between us and HIMSELF. The fulfillment of His word, will, and purpose shall prevail and no obstacles shall derail Him from coming." 

Also a young, nineteen-year old man from Romania named Dinu recently wrote to Len saying he has been reading the testimonies on his Eternal Destinations blog and "loves" it.  He was asking Len for some advice on which church to attend, as well as training on evangelism, which Len sent to him.

Another lady by the alias "Medic Maria" commented on Len's article, Hearing the Lord's Voice, "This was an amazing article. I pray that you reach many with your devotion to the Lord."

In February, we were pleasantly surprised to receive a generous offering from a sister named Jennifer, whom we have never met in St. Paul, Minnesota. There has only been perhaps one other time when someone we did not know gave to our ministry online, and that was someone who got saved through our ministry.  When we sent Jennifer a note of thanks, she informed us that she found out about us through Pastor Olugbenga of Peterborough, England, whom Len wrote about in December in his article for married couples. She stated:

"Hello, I found out about you through Complete In Christ Church.  I am from MN, but I saw the marriage video and responded to [Pastor Olugbenga] with questions, and eventually he told me about your blogs which I love and learn from a lot.  I really believe this is the true  gospel about holiness, something that is very rare.  Years ago the Lord had me learn from Dr. Owour and it has just progressed from there.  I was raised in charismatic Christianity my whole life, but found out in my 20's (I am 42 now) I really wasn't saved at all, thinking I was the whole time.  I noticed that as I prayed to obey the lord to be pleasing to Him, He has opened the teaching of holiness to me more and more. I have always been teachable and not doubting His Way, and I am so shocked at the resistance of other believers to not believe in holiness.  My family are ministers and yet not embracing this.  What I really learned from Dr. Owour is the western prophets are really not prophets at all, I really stay clear of them...I have seen their error and I stay as far away as possible.  I believe in the rapture and that it is imminent.  I will be sowing into your ministry as it is truly teaching me and feeding me. Thank you so much for [being] obedient to the Lord. You have a way of writing and explaining that is clear to me. God bless you. Jennifer."

Finally, one of our ministry financial partners in Texas recently sent us a wonderful bit of encouragement. He said, "...We are also Very Thankful that He's chosen you and your family to be true Warriors for his Kingdom and helping spread the good word." And in another email he wrote, "God is definitely blessing us and so many times when I think of where to give, God keeps guiding me back to you and your ministry and what your family stands for. We love you guys, God bless!"  Their encouragement is always such a great blessing to us.

"Not to us, Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness." (Ps 115:1)

2. For the Lord to send his angels with Len’s messages to those who need them, and for an open heaven over them when they receive his messages.
3. For the Lord to put a hedge of protection around our ministry president, Dr. Stenhouse, and multiply to him an abundance of grace, mercy, peace, and wisdom, as well as grant him good health. 
4. For the persecution in India among the missionaries and churches that the saints would endure and be faithful till the end. 
5. For the Lord to give Len guidance and provision regarding the open door for short-term work in Burma, which is the next opportunity.
6. For the Lord’s guidance regarding a possible ministry trip to the United Kingdom.
7. For the Lord to provide us with a four-bedroom, two-or-more-bath home within our price range, along with all the various items we will need to furnish and equip it.
8. For the Lord to open new doors of opportunity for ministry for us, and that we would be fruitful.

January Update 2015

Greetings from North Carolina in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ!  We're pleased to share with you what the Lord has been doing in our lives and ministry.

Family: In December we had a birthday party for the Lord Jesus.  Then on New Years Eve we had a message and prayer as a family.

Also our youngest daughter told us about something special that happened during her quiet time one day.  She said, “I told God that I want to be one of the end time harvesters. He said, ‘You already are through the poems and A Brush with Life.” Praise the Lord for this word of encouragement, and the way the Lord is using the children through these two ministries of theirs to touch lives for Jesus Christ.  Their art website has received over 5,000 views from around the world, and their poetry site over 11,000.

Speaking of A Brush with Life, the children have recently added some new artwork. Charity has added a beautiful sunset painting on The Creator, as well as a painting called "Thou Art Worthy" on Jesus.  The other children have also added new ones. You can find all their Recent Artwork here.

December Update 2014

Greetings from North Carolina in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ!  We're pleased to share with you what the Lord has been doing in our lives and ministry.

Len and Jennifer on Thanksgiving Day

Family: In November, while Len was in Hungary, Jennifer took the children to see the Natural Science Museum in Raleigh, North Carolina, which was free, and they enjoyed it.  They saw many mounted animals that had been taxidermised.  They also saw some live ones, too.  So they all enjoyed seeing and learning about God's creation in nature.

A week after Len returned from Hungary, we all went to the North Carolina History Museum and enjoyed just being together for some family time.  The best part about the museum was that it was free.

We enjoyed a peaceful Thanksgiving Day, and before the meal each of us took time to give thanks to the Lord for His manifold blessings in our lives.  "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change." (Js 1:17).

Also in November, the African Children's Choir (ACC) arrived at the other Guest House next door to the one we are living in.  That is their US residence while they are traveling in the States.  These are orphans from Uganda, who have been taken into the care of the ACC ministry, and who go on music tours.  They were only here for about one week, but the children enjoyed meeting them during that short time.

The Children on Thanksgiving Day

We have some good news to report in that we have been given an extension of two more months by King's Park International Church to rent their guest house, so that means we can stay until the end of April. Praise the Lord! However, we have been told that is a firm date, so we need to begin now looking for another place to stay. We're praying the Lord will provide other housing at that time, since currently we are financially not able to return to the mission field and we are waiting on the Lord for direction. The direction we have so far is to be based in the US and make short term trips overseas, while continuing the Christian literature ministry online.  So please pray with us for housing, which is a big need right now, and let us know if you become aware of any opportunities for us to stay as guests temporarily someplace.  We know the Lord will provide as He always has, and we will not be homeless, so we trust in Him to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory.

The children have now finished recording their music albums, which we mentioned last month.  They have also been creating some great, new artwork lately.  Some of the new ones include "Beautiful Jesus", "Sun of Righteousness", "An Ever-Present Help", and "Children of the Lord", all of which are posted on Jesus; as well as "Walking on the Narrow Way" and "The Four Seeds", all of which are posted on Salvation.  Joseph has even made a special contribution called, "Jesus is Coming Soon!" -- a prophetic message he chose on his own, and the artwork is posted on Rapture. Charity has also written some new poems called Heaven's Dweller and Smoldering Flame.

Adam, Domonkos, Eva, Vilmos, and Len in Hungary

Ministry:  In November, Len was away in Budapest to meet with David Vadnai to encourage him and his disciples, and pray together.  The Lord blessed that time, as we reported last month, and there was good fruit from his trip.  Len noticed that it seemed like people in Budapest were more closed to the gospel than we had observed when we were there. However, one young man that Len evangelized to, named Csaba (pronounced "chaw-baw"), responded with many sincere questions about the gospel, which Len answered, and he promised to consider giving his life to Christ. At first he had rejected the gospel tract that Len handed him, but then he pursued Len and called out in Hungarian, "Uram!" ("Sir!"), wanting to speak with Len about the gospel, so that he could know how to be saved. Praise the Lord for his openness.

On another occasion, a man on a bus immediately burst forth with curses and the satanic horns hand signal against Len when he tried to hand the man a gospel tract.  The man didn't even know what the tract said inside, but depicted on the front was Christ Jesus on the cross, bleeding, and the words printed "All This I Did for Thee."  Len just returned his cursing with a blessing and continued to stand right beside him.  Please pray with us that the Lord would get a hold of that man's life and he would become a warrior for Christ.

Len also traveled to Vienna by train with David to meet with another board member there named Dennis Nederveen. They shared a time of prayer, seeking the Lord and discussing the future of this ministry.

At a church service in Vienna, where Dennis was preaching, Len was given the opportunity to share his testimony, which he did and encouraged the saints there.

Mihály "Mike" Merényi

In Budapest, Len met with Vilmos (William), who is an elder he knows in Hungary at the church we once attended.  Len had trained him in the past on evangelism and discipleship, and this was a time of fellowship to encourage one another, eat dinner with him and his family, and pray together.

On another day, Len also met individually with Mihály "Mike" Merényi, (who had interpreted for Len at a recent house meeting), to train him on sharing Jesus in personal evangelism.

We reported last month that Len ministered at a home group meeting that met at David's apartment. We mentioned a elder brother, named Gyuri, who used to be a pastor.  Gyuri knows some of the dark secrets regarding the wicked things happening within the Hungarian government.  He shared some of those things with Len.  He told about all the idolatry in Hungary.  For example, there is something known as the golden Sacred Crown, kept under glass at the Parliament building in Budapest. Gyuri says it is a shaman crown welded together into one with a Catholic Crown, and it is actually considered a "pubic servant" in the constitution.

For those who don't know, "a shaman is a person regarded as having access to, and influence in, the world of benevolent and malevolent spirits, who typically enters into a trance state during a ritual, and practices divination and healing" (Wikipedia). Hungarians who invaded the Carpathian basin in 895-896 AD were pagans. It has been said that they sacrificed horses, prayed to boulders and streams and participated in shaman drumming rituals. According to Gyuri, not long ago, the Hungarian government also hired a shaman dancer for 50 million Hungarian Forints (over $200,000) to perform a spiritual dance around the crown inside the Parliament.

Gyuri also told about the time when the Dalai Lama visited Budapest in September 2010, and was welcomed by the mayor. At that time, he taught about Tibetan Buddhism in Hungary and consecrated a mandala inside the Parliament building, which was a model of a boat. "A mandala is a spiritual and ritual symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism, representing the Universe" (Wikipedia). Also the Hungarian government sent someone to the Czech Republic to obtain power from the Black Madonna idol and bring that power back to Hungary to help the government be successful.  And each year they rededicate the country to Mary. These are evil practices that some Hungarians do not even know about. As you think of Hungary and pray for the nation, pray that the Lord will bring down all the spiritual strongholds, especially those in the Parliament.

On the last Sunday in October, we shared Jesus with a man named Eddie here in the States, who lived at a old house, down the street from where we live. Although he claimed Jesus as his Lord, he thought God would let him into heaven because he helps people and does good.  Len preached the gospel to him, reminding him that we cannot trust in our own good works to save us, and that it is only by repenting and trusting in His blood, and having a relationship with Him that we can be saved. Len also reminded him that it is a narrow road to heaven and that if we claim He is our Lord, we cannot go on living in sin.  If He is our Lord, we must obey Him. We then prayed for him to be healed of the flu like symptoms he had been having for the past few days prior to that, and prayed for his knees, which were bothering him from all his years as an auto mechanic. It was a good visit, and we had planned to go back at a later time to share the Scriptures with him.

Once Len returned from his trip to Hungary in November, he was thinking about how we need to go back and share the Scriptures with Eddie.  However, during his first week back home, Eddie collapsed dead on his couch before we had another chance to speak with him. He was only sixty years old, and it came as a surprise to his whole family!  We don't know what happened to Eddie. We can only hope he repented fully of all his sins, and surrendered his life to Jesus Christ before his life ended so suddenly.  He died only four weeks and one day after we preached the gospel to him. Len has posted the full story about this man on Now is the Day of Salvation.  Pray that we will be able to reach his wife Melanie with the gospel.

On the flight back from Hungary, Len also had the opportunity to share Jesus with a young American man named Kai, who had been on vacation in Budapest.  Although he was raised in a Christian home by a pastor, he himself is a humanist.  Pray that Kai will come to know Jesus.

In December, Len received an invitation from a pastor in Punkab Pakistan to come and help them there. He specifically invited Len to help him with the upcoming Pastors Leadership Conference and Healing Crusade in Pakistan. He seems to be doing a wonderful work there among the poor, conducting preaching, evangelical meetings, church planting, and leadership conferences in Pakistan, as well as in the Middle East.  But Len advised him that we need to hear from the Lord about such an opportunity.  He also informed him that he is not able financially to do such a missions trip unless the Lord provides for it, and we are still waiting on the Lord about the opportunity in Burma. As you recall, the two Burmese pastors contacted Len separately in 2013 and 2014, asking for help.  We continue to keep in touch with them and pray for direction, as well as the Lord's provision, if indeed He wants Len to walk through that open door for ministry.

Although several financial partners have ended their giving to our ministry this month and last month, we are so blessed for all the years they were able to support us.  And furthermore, we are grateful for the three new partners in England and New England (including one church) that have begun to support us this year without our even asking, as well as those existing partners who have been led to give above and beyond their pledged amount!  That has truly helped us.  We are also grateful for those of you partners that know our situation well, and have continued to give faithfully throughout the years, even since our return to the States.  We continually pray the Lord's blessings upon all of our partners.

Administrative Need: Our volunteer bookkeeper Denis has informed us that he will need to resign in April due to changes in his workload at his job. So we are praying the Lord will provide someone to replace him.  Please join us in praying for this special need, and let us know if you would like us to consider you for this volunteer position.

In closing, we have much to praise God for, and many opportunities for you to join us in prayer.

Praise the Lord with us for the many answers to prayer:

1. For the family time we had together when Len returned from Hungary in November.
2. For a wonderful Thanksgiving Day giving thanks to God for His many blessings.
3. For the lives the Lord touched for Jesus through Len in Hungary last month, like Csaba, Martha, "Mike," Marci, Gyuri, and Kai.
4. For the opportunity to train "Mike" in Hungary in sharing Jesus without fear.
5. For the two-month extension we received from King's Park International Church to continue renting the guest house until the end of April.
6. For the face to face meeting and prayer time Len had in Vienna with the European board members.
7. For the new financial partners that have joined in supporting us this year without our even asking, and for all of our existing partners who continue giving faithfully, even above and beyond their pledge.

Next steps and prayer needs:

1. That Martha will become a disciple, receive the baptism with the Holy Spirit, and become a powerful witness for the Lord in Hungary, growing in her new relationship with Christ. 
2. For the Lord to draw to Himself and save the people we have been witnessing to, especially Kai and Csaba, as well as the violently angry man on the bus. 
3. That we will be able to reach Eddie's wife Melanie with the gospel.
4. For the Lord to give Len guidance and provision regarding the open door for short-term work in Burma, which is the next big opportunity.
5. For the Lord to open new doors of opportunity for ministry for us, and that we would be fruitful.
6. For the Lord to raise up new faith partners.
7. For the Lord to provide for us, including another place for us to move to at the end of April.
8. For the Lord to provide someone to replace Denis our bookkeeper by April 1.
