October Update -- 2020

Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ!  We're pleased to share with you the wonderful things the Lord has been doing in our lives and ministry.

Family
: In October we celebrated Jennifer's birthday with homemade cake made by Faith, as well as cards, a gift, and prayer.

Jennifer's finger is still causing some pain, because the fingernail has not yet returned to its normal level following the emergency surgery she had two months ago. Her primary care physician, who saw her in follow up not long after the surgery, told her it would take a while for the nail to go back down. So we are still praying and waiting on the Lord for that to happen.

During October Len posted Hope's salvation testimony on one of his blogs. In her testimony she describes how she was Given a New Heart with Sweet Peace. It's worth reading. Meanwhile, Len moved Faith's salvation testimony to a public posting, since she is now an adult. If you haven't already read it, it's called My Overflowing Joy in Knowing Jesus

Ministry: As we continue to administer our discipleship training school (DTS), we'd like to update you on the good things that God is doing with it. By the grace of God, we currently have disciples in four nations including Uganda, Nigeria, Kenya, and Ghana.

Len received the following email from brother Grace in September regarding his healing and deliverance ministry in Soroti, Uganda. Grace is a pastor and one of our third year students. Here is what he wrote:

"...I have been having no single moment to do what seems necessary, but caught up helping and reaching those in challenges, many missions etc. I thank God that some of them have recovered from critical conditions. One [man] was hospitalised with a stroke, unable to sit, eat or drink, breathing was not well etc. Glory to the Lord, he is recovering. Families have been delivered etc. I will write more on this later...I pray the Lord blesses your endeavours, your prayers etc.

Blessings
Grace Okurut"

In his second email he wrote:

"Hi dear brother Len,

...My life, family, ministry have not remained the same because of your ministry. What more do I say, but to thank God in every situation who brought you to my life. Blessings my brother as we wait for His soon appearing.

Your brother Grace Okurut."

Len received the following testimony in October from sister Christine in Uganda (pictured left), who is in her First Year of DTS training:

"Dear Brother Len,

Praise the Lord Jesus.

Joining the DTS has brought about changes in different areas in my life.

First of all as I read the word of God every day it has given me a deeper desire to read and study the Bible always.

Secondly through the DTS course works I have gained broader revelation and knowledge of God and I am personally being equipped for everyday ministry as a servant of the Lord. Thirdly, the LTG  has given me a sense of accountability on spiritual matters to my LTG group.

Thank you and God bless you.

Christine"

Brother Stephen (pictured left) in Nigeria wrote the following testimony to Len in October:

"I appreciate God for using you through this ministry to affect lives beyond your country. Now we are blessed through DTS. This course has helped me and my group, where many are celebrating God faithfulness in their lives. And I know that God will do more than this when people get to [know] more about what we do."

We are also glad to report that the Lord protected sister Rudiah as she traveled from the UAE back to Kenya in September to be reunited with her family. Thank the Lord for His divine protection.

Len sent out his monthly edition of Old News That's Still Fresh in October to pastors, elders, and laborers in the harvest in the US, Europe, Australia, Africa, and Asia.

Resources: We would like to invite you to read the following recent articles that Len has posted, which include Faith and Hope's salvation testimonies: What We Should Always Be DoingGiven a New Heart with Sweet Peace, and My Overflowing Joy in Knowing Jesus. We would like to remind you that Len's entire collection of his most popular blogs are at Writing for the Master.

In closing, we have much to praise God for, and many opportunities for you to join us in prayer.

Praise the Lord with us for the many answers to prayer:
  1. For enabling us to celebrate Jennifer's birthday and for giving us beautiful weather for it.
  2. For the testimonies of Grace, Christine, and Stephen, regarding how the Lord is impacting their lives through the DTS.
  3. For protecting sister Rudiah in her return to Kenya in September.
  4. For the opportunity to assist each of our students in becoming disciples of Christ and fulfilling their callings.
  5. For the Lord's leading, guidance, and help administering the Doulos Training School (DTS), and for the progress the students are making.
  6. For the lives being touched for Christ around the world through our writing ministry.
Next steps and prayer needs:
  1. For the Lord to heal Jennifer's finger.
  2. For the Lord to heal Faith and Len from eczema.
  3. For the Lord to provide for all the needs of our DTS students in the hardships they're experiencing due to the lockdown, especially those in dire need in Uganda.
  4. For the Lord to assist all our DTS students in any life challenges they may be experiencing.
  5. For the Lord to provide us with a new Bookkeeper for Doulos Missions International.
  6. For the Lord to assist us with the administration of the Doulos Training School (DTS), as well as develop through it many disciples who multiply disciples.
  7. For the Lord to help all of our DTS students to find LTG partners (another Christian to meet with weekly for discipleship in a Life Transformation Group), and help them finish all their course work for the current quarter by the end of this month.
  8. For the Lord to fulfill His purposes for us and our ministry.
  9. For the Lord to raise up new faith partners, and for Him to provide for all our needs -- not only ours personally, but also those of the ministry.
Thank you so much for your partnership in this ministry.

with love from all of us,

The Lacroixs
