June Update -- 2022

Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ! We're pleased to share with you the wonderful things the Lord has been doing in our lives and ministry.

Family
: In June, our daughter Hope was hired to work part time at the same Deli/Bakery department in the same grocery store where our daughter Faith works.  Praise the Lord. She has been wanting to work out in the public once again, so this will provide her the opportunity to do so a couple days a week, while still keeping her job teaching English to international students around the world via video calls from home. Please join us in giving thanks to the Lord, as well as praying that the Lord will help her learn all the new skills she will need to do the demanding job.

Meanwhile the Lord has healed Charity, and she is not having any more presyncope symptoms. Praise the Lord!

We mentioned last month that we as a family have been distributing the Jesus Film DVD and some gospel tracts, as well as Len's salvation testimony and his book, A Willing Heart to Please the Father, throughout our entire community. We continued with that outreach in May and June. Please pray for us that the Lord would help us do this and touch the hearts of every person who receives (and who has already received) a gift bag on their doorknob, that those who don't know Christ would give their lives to Him. We have three weeks of outreach remaining.

Ministry: As we continue to administer our discipleship training school (DTS), we'd like to update you on the good things that God is doing with it. By the grace of God, we currently have disciples in seven nations including Uganda, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, South Sudan, India, and the United Kingdom.

In May, sister Juliet in Uganda shared that she continues to do evangelistic outreach with her LTG partners. They encountered a small, four-year old boy in one Muslim area who had large brain tumors on various parts of his head, who had been abandoned by his parents and left with the great grandmother to care for him. She eventually found a charitable organization there that agreed to provide medical assistance for the boy, so she picked him up and took him to Mulago National Hospital, but it was already too late, and the boy passed away. Although it was sad, she rejoiced that the boy is now at home with the Lord. She asked that we pray for the Muslims there to come to Christ, as they are now curious to know more about these born-again Christians who seem to genuinely love and care about them, even though they are complete strangers.

Len received the following testimony about sister Rebecca in South Sudan:

There is a young man whom they prayed for and led to Christ. After accepting Christ, he got filled with the Holy Spirit and testified that he used to persecute Christians by locking churches and even burning the bibles.  He is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy, much like the apostle Paul before he was saved. To God be the glory.

In May, brother Henry in South Sudan shared a similar testimony of a man called Isaac, who confessed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Isaac had been a persecutor of Christians and killed many of them. He was about to commit suicide before brother Henry led him to the Lord.

Although these two testimonies from sister Juliet and brother Henry seem very similar, these are not the same two men who got saved. Brother Henry explained:

"They [the two men] are different. The government of South Sudan has reconciled with one of the rebel groups from Eastern Equatorial State, so there are more than 10,000 youths brought back to the community, and that's why we were reaching out [to them]. Most of them have similar backgrounds, and we are believing God for more to surrender their lives to Jesus Christ."

Brother Justus in Uganda wrote the following email from Len upon certifying completion of his first year in the DTS:

"How glad I am for the Word of God that l can read it and meditate upon it, and that l can have His Word hidden in my heart.

I praise God for the many precious teachings and promises that He has given, which I can claim as my own and stand upon, and to know that they are sure and steadfast.

I know that God will not forsake me, His presence is more real and the fellowship that l have with Him and with you oh brother Len each moment grows sweeter.

Thank you, Bro Len, for serving me. You made me know the absolute truth through your God-given articles and ministry.

Justus"

In June, brother John in India, who is one of our DTS students and a pastor, wrote the following message to Len:

"The DTS has made a great impression on my mind, such that I can observe the difference in my life before and after joining the DTS, especially after the completion of the topics I have studied during each quarter. I enjoy the academic regimen the school provides. The material that I am being taught is very helpful to my individual spiritual growth and to my congregation. I am very thankful to all the partners and Brother Len for providing this training."

In June, Len received the following testimony from sister Rebecca in Uganda:

"Praise the Lord bro Len,

I thank God for the grace to witness (share the gospel), individually and with my LTG partners, [which resulted in] at least nine people giving their lives to Christ. [There were also] many [others] strengthened and healed through the ministry of prayer. Daily Bible reading has kept me attuned to God, and helped in guiding me.

God granted me a safe delivery to a baby boy named Providence in the month of May. All in all, this course has put a desire in me to know, learn, discover and practice the truth.

Thanks be to God almighty in Jesus."

Brother John in Uganda wrote in June:

"Greetings Bro Len & Sister Jennifer,

All praise and glory be to God!

Through the commitment of your lives for this noble work you are doing, I can't thank you enough, but may the Good Lord, who is the rewarder of His people, do you also good.  Am so grateful and blessed to hear from  those I have recommended to this DTS testifying of their life transformation through this Discipleship Training! I am pleased that this DTS is blessing and transforming lives, and am pleased that through it I have also become a blessing. My heart is to always be a blessing in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Brother Grace in Uganda, who is one of our graduates and facilitators, as well as a pastor there, share this testimony in June:

"Greetings, dear brother Len!

Over the weekend when we came together as a fellowship, the Lord's Spirit convicted us to move in small groups including children to different directions shouting the words, 'Jesus is Lord'; Within 20 minutes we were done, and two people gave their lives to Jesus. Glory to Him.

Your brother, Grace."

Brother Martin in Uganda wrote to Len in June saying:

"I have learned so far through DTS as well from my Life Transformation Group (LTG) that God is far more interested in why I comfort others than in how well I serve them. God is always looking at the heart as I serve His people around me willingly with zeal out of love for Jesus and gratitude for all he’s done for me through DTS.

I have also learned a lot from the Book of John 13: 14-15 after washing his disciple’s feet, Jesus said, “I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you.”

Thank you, brother. Len,

Yours in Him!

Brother. Martin"

Please pray for brother Henry in Uganda whose father recently passed away and for brother Humphrey who is caring for his sick brother in the hospital.

DTS Light
We are excited to announce that on June 1st, we launched a new offering called DTS Light.  This is a light version of our regular DTS with a reduced course load to accommodate those with special needs, who for some reason cannot participate in the regular DTS. This one only requires participants to read two articles, which explain what a Life Transformation Group (LTG) is and how to start one, and then the DTS Light student must participate in an LTG for three years with one or two partners. All LTG participants must read 25-30 chapters of the Bible per week, pray together for those in their circles who don't know Jesus, and be accountable to one another during a one-hour weekly meeting. We believe this will enable us to reach more people in order to make disciples who will multiply disciples. More information about the DTS Light program may be found at the following link. Please pray for the success of this new program.

Note: Some words in the recorded testimonies above have been changed to correct the grammar and spelling, and to enhance their clarity and readability. This was done without changing the meaning.

Resources: We would like to remind you that Len's entire collection of his most popular blogs are at Writing for the Master.

In closing, we have much to praise God for, and many opportunities for you to join us in prayer.

Praise the Lord with us for the many answers to prayer:
  1. For leading us to launch the new DTS Light program.
  2. For healing Charity from pre-syncope.
  3. For providing a job for Hope at the same grocery store in the same department with her sister Faith.
  4. For the amazing testimonies of God's work in the lives of our students and their brethren in Christ.
  5. For the opportunity to assist each of our students in becoming disciples of Christ and fulfilling their callings.
  6. For the Lord's leading, guidance, wisdom, and help administering the Doulos Training School (DTS), and for the progress the students are making.
Next steps and prayer needs:
  1. For the Lord to heal Faith and Len from eczema.
  2. For the Lord to heal Charity from insomnia.
  3. For the Lord to use our community outreach with the Jesus Film DVD to touch many hearts and bring many lives to Jesus.
  4. For the Lord to help Christopher to do well on his summer college courses.
  5. For the Lord to provide for all the needs of our DTS students.
  6. For the Lord to comfort brother Henry in the loss of his father, and help brother Humphrey as he cares for his sick brother.
  7. For the Lord to assist us with the administration of the Doulos Training School (DTS), as well as develop through it many disciples who multiply disciples.
  8. For the Lord to help all of our DTS students to find LTG partners (another Christian to meet with weekly for discipleship in a Life Transformation Group).
  9. For the Lord to fulfill His purposes for us and our ministry.
  10. For the Lord to raise up new faith partners, and for Him to provide for all our needs -- not only ours personally, but also those of the ministry.
Thank you so much for your partnership in this ministry.

with love from all of us,

The Lacroixs
