May Update -- 2021

Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ!  We're pleased to share with you the wonderful things the Lord has been doing in our lives and ministry.

Family: In May we celebrated Christopher's sixteenth birthday with cake, sixteen candles, cards, gifts, and prayer. The Lord blessed us with wonderful fellowship and a beautiful sunny day for it.

In our April newsletter, we mentioned that Len was contacted by a Muslim man named Sammy in Libya, asking for help to know the truth. So Len shared the gospel with him and invited him to give his life to Christ. After our last newsletter, he later wrote back saying he followed Len's advice and made a decision for Christ. He now believes in the Lord. Praise the Lord!

Len has also continued, with a lot of help from Faith, to work on editing the book he has written about Andrew Stenhouse called A Willing Heart, which we mentioned in our last newsletter. The book has already been published online at awillingheart.org, and the free e-book is available there. He is also preparing to have the book printed professionally, so that he can distribute it around the country to churches and libraries free of charge.

Ministry: As we continue to administer our discipleship training school (DTS), we'd like to update you on the good things that God is doing with it. By the grace of God, we currently have disciples in five nations including Uganda, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, and the United States.

Len received the following email from Grace in Uganda, who is one of our graduates and our DTS facilitator for that country:

"Hi dear brother Len,

I am so very grateful hearing from you again! In fact I am writing to you with much joy knowing what God has done in my personal life through DTS!

I am happy [to be] connecting with DTS students; they are encouraged and are reporting they are trying their best to make more LTGs. I have been sharing with the brethren here about DTS and 3-4 have made that decision. I will be introducing them to you soon for the next enrollment.

Among the testimonies I shared with my LTG etc here in response to the question 'how have you experienced God this week?' The answer was based on the testimony of the seven Colombian youths who received a revelation of heaven and hell. My life has been totally changed by that testimony where the angel writes all of the things that happen on earth including the date, the hour, all things are recorded in that large book! As it is in Revelation 20:12, people are judged according to their works that are written in the book. For sure for real I am never the same again; the sins I used to commit are history, glory be to the Lord!

In fact, God is blessing our ministries through the DTS as we are applying that knowledge in our ministries. Brother all the questions and your advice are very helpful to me.

Blessings dear brother,

Your fellow labourer, Grace Okurut."

In May brother Grace reported to Len the following testimony:

"...lots of people here are dying more than ever before! Brother Humphrey and many others have lost dear ones of recent. If only they can be dying to meet the Lord, but many haven't confessed. I had one in our village who backslid years ago. The Lord appeared to me in a dream to travel home and recommit him to the Lord. Surprisingly when I reached home my mother told me the same man had sent her a message that he dreamt I went to pray for him and told my mother I must reach him before travelling back to Soroti. After prayer the Lord took him within a week!"

Hallelujah!

Moreover, brother Jimmy in Uganda, who is one of our second-year DTS students, is beginning to see the fruit of his training. He reports that the people who listen to him preach are wondering where he received his training. He says the DTS is very enriching and that he is sharing it with people who plan to enroll in DTS. Here is an email he sent to Len in May:

"What great news we have in our ministry and the life of people to whom we are reaching. Many have been wondering about the knowledge and the revelation we have so far  in the word of God, because our level of preaching and interpreting the Bible have changed. All this is happening because of DTS and LTG group sharing. I in particular want to thank the Lord for transforming our life and the ministry through the study in the DTS,

Although we still need more prayer, so that many people are able to join and experience this life changing study. Many would have loved to join us, but [are unable to do so now] due to internet challenges [that] have affected them. But I know that in due time we are going to blow the planet with this word of truth. Thanks

Jimmy Felex"

Len also received the following testimony from brother John in Uganda:

"Hallelujah! These lessons I am learning through DTS are life changing. My faith is growing daily, [while] confidence and boldness [are] increasing in me! The joy of the Lord is filling my heart, and salvation is becoming more interesting.

Oh, I don't know how to express it, but I believe [that] those going through the [DTS] course understand what am talking about. I am so grateful to Bro Len for giving me this opportunity to be a part of this DTS. I am forever grateful, for what am receiving is eternal. It's by faith alone! No addition to our being righteous with God. Believe in Jesus Christ the Son of God alone, and you are justified. It's not by works."

Brother Mike, who is a first-year DTS student in the US, shared the following testimony:

"We've been using the LTG with just two of us after a Wednesday night men's group. It has allowed Gary and I to walk closely together with a focus on what God is doing in our lives. The two of us staying after is sparking interest in discipleship among the other men in the group.

Another praise is that God provided for me to enjoy a long weekend with a pastor from my church to visit Florida.  While I missed my family, we enjoyed our fellowship and talking about Jesus as well as some good food and a stroll along the Atlantic Ocean.  It is amazing to see human buildings (which look big) next to the wonder of God's ocean (which is so much more incredible and powerful)."

Len received the following testimony from brother Tom, who is a pastor in Uganda. He wrote:

"Praise be to the Lord for His marvelous work in my life.

It is now two years since I joined this school (DTS). With all the knowledge I have attained from DTS, I am able to rightly divide the word of truth to not only my church, but also to other churches.

Through the grace of our Lord, I am invited by Redeemed Gospel Ministries to facilitate a one-week seminar by the end of this month . When I received their invitation, I did not turn it down, because I knew I had the right material to deliver. This seminar is organised to train leaders for Northern Uganda under Redeemed Gospel Churches.

From here, I see the great impact of this school that is enriching, empowering, and transforming the lives of many. My appeal to all the DTS students and LTGs [is this]: let's endeavour to reach the entire world with the true Gospel we have acquired.

God bless you."

In May, Len received the following testimony from sister Hannah in Nigeria, who is one of our third-year DTS students and the wife of one of our Facilitators, brother Deji:

"Dear Bro Len,

I want to thank God for the safe delivery of a bouncing baby girl to our family last month. Before the delivery, my doctor complained about my low 'packed cell volume' (PCV), and she had to recommend some drugs to me. We prayed about it and believed that there would be no blood transfusion [necessary] during the delivery. Before the delivery, I had to check my PVC, which was 29%, and after the delivery, it was 31%. Praise God! There was no [need for a] blood transfusion. The baby and the mum are doing fine, and we were discharged the next day.

I want to Thank God for His provision toward my family at this time! Praise God!"

You may recall that brother Stephen and his wife Daniel in Nigeria have launched out into full time pastoral ministry in the village. In May, sister Daniel shared the following testimony:

"Dear brother Len,

I appreciate God for making me a part of this DTS. It has changed my life. I study the Bible often, and I can now use the word of God to pray. I read your article on lifting our hands and heads to the Lord in prayers. And since then, I have been enjoying sweet fellowship with God in prayers with my hands and head lifted to him, fixing my eyes to heaven has made me feel God is always closer to me.

The DTS has helped my new ministry with children and teenagers. I have twenty-three children and fourteen teenagers, [to whom] I am teaching the life of Jesus in my local church. Twelve of the teenagers have given their lives to Christ to the glory of God. Please continue to pray for me that God will help me to raise a generation that will serve him and that I shall not fail to feed these children and teenagers he has entrusted to my care. Praise God!"

One of our first-year students in South Africa named Dorcas sent the following testimony to Len in May:

Good morning Br Len and family,

I hope you are doing well by the grace of God. God is doing wonders, and He is using me. I'm counselling people, and I pray for people as well.

There is a lady I prayed for to have a child, because she was [seeking to have a child for] more than four years, and I prayed for her. Now she is pregnant. Glory be to God.

I was counselling another brother who wanted to commit suicide, Now he has changed his mind [about] killing himself, because there is hope in Christ. And I'm still winning souls for Christ. I'm blessed to be in discipleship school. My eyes are open now. I know many things that I didn't know.. May God bless you more grace on you, Sir.

Greetings to the family. I love you all."

Sister Christine in Uganda wrote to Len in May with the following testimony:

Dear Bro Len,

I am grateful to God for the DTS training, because it is so enriching and the topics are simple and understandable. I have been enlightened in many teachings in the DTS, some of them are righteousness, repentance, holiness, heaven, hell. This knowledge has helped me to share the gospel firmly and with courage.

Through this training I have also learnt; as stated in the DISCIPLESHIP IV [course] that, as disciples of Christ, we are to preach the gospel of our Lord Jesus to people God puts on our path in obedience to Him--even if [only] a few give their lives to Christ.

Thank you so much, Bro Len.

Christine"

In May, another new student enrolled in the DTS. Sister Florence, who lives in Uganda, came to know the Lord in 2014, and this is her testimony:

"After the father of my children abandoned me with the pregnancy, I went through depression .I started watching Christian channels, and one day I went to a Pentecostal church and surrendered my life to Christ."

She says she is enrolling "To know the truth about the Word of God and allow the Word to transform my life."

Florence will begin her training on June 1. We are grateful that the Lord has entrusted her to our care, and we look forward to serving her during the next three years.

Len received the following encouraging praise report from a new brother in Christ in May who wrote:

"Dear Len Lacroix,

I thank the Lord for guiding me to your work. I grew up and currently live in a very secular/atheistic environment (California) and only came to know Him a few months ago. Your articles have been a blessing by showing me how to live a more godly life. Constantly influenced by all the ungodly things around me and not knowing any believers, I prayed for  guidance, and God showed me the BibleMemory app in which I met Vera and Roger. I thank them as they have really helped bring me closer to the Lord. In fact, Vera was the one who shared your work with me...Thank you for writing for the Master.

Yours in Christ,

Henry"

Praise the Lord for this wonderful testimony! The two people named Vera and Roger, whom Henry referred to, are our children Faith and Christopher, and those are the screen names they use on the BibleMemory site.

Sister Cynthia in Kenya shared the wonderful news about healing in answer to prayer. She wrote in May:

"Praise God!

I would wish to thank God for healing my aunt who has been unwell. And also my daughter who has been unwell. Glory and honour to him."

Len sent out his monthly edition of Old News That's Still Fresh in May to pastors, elders, and laborers in the harvest in the US, Europe, Australia, Africa, and Asia.

Resources: We would like to invite you to read the following recent podcasts from A Willing Heart that Len has posted:  Confirmation of God's DirectionDelivering Island BabiesSailing with Half a Million Sheep, and Divinely Appointed Birthplace,  For those who did not see our newsletter last month, A Willing Heart is the amazing biography of Dr. Andrew Stenhouse, one of our board members. Len also updated his article on the Pros and Cons of the NIV Bible. We would like to remind you that Len's entire collection of his most popular blogs are at Writing for the Master.

In closing, we have much to praise God for, and many opportunities for you to join us in prayer.

Praise the Lord with us for the many answers to prayer:
  1. For enabling us to celebrate Christopher's birthday and for giving us beautiful weather for it.
  2. For all of the many student testimonies, regarding how the Lord is impacting their lives through the DTS in amazing ways.
  3. For healing sister Cynthia's aunt and daughter.
  4. For the addition of another new student to our DTS.
  5. For the opportunity to assist each of our students in becoming disciples of Christ and fulfilling their callings.
  6. For the Lord's leading, guidance, and help administering the Doulos Training School (DTS), and for the progress the students are making.
  7. For the lives being touched for Christ around the world through our writing ministry.
Next steps and prayer needs:
  1. For the Lord to heal Faith and Len from eczema.
  2. For the Lord to provide for all the needs of our DTS students in the hardships they're experiencing.
  3. For the Lord to assist all our DTS students in any life challenges they may be experiencing.
  4. For God to help sister Daniel to raise up a generation that will serve Him, and that she'll faithfully feed those whom He has entrusted to her care
  5. For the Lord to assist us with the administration of the Doulos Training School (DTS), as well as develop through it many disciples who multiply disciples.
  6. For the Lord to help all of our DTS students to find LTG partners (another Christian to meet with weekly for discipleship in a Life Transformation Group), and help them finish all their course work for the current quarter by the end of this month.
  7. For the Lord to fulfill His purposes for us and our ministry.
  8. For the Lord to raise up new faith partners, and for Him to provide for all our needs -- not only ours personally, but also those of the ministry.
Thank you so much for your partnership in this ministry.

with love from all of us,

The Lacroixs
