January Update -- 2024

Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ! We're pleased to share with you the wonderful things the Lord has been doing in our lives and ministry.

Family
: The Lord blessed us all with a wonderful, "watch-night" prayer meeting on New Year's Eve. In January, Christopher began his college studies at a local technical college, which have been going fine so far. We continue to pray and believe God to provide him with a well-paying job in his field. Meanwhile, he is continuing to gain valuable customer service skills in the deli where he works, which he is enjoying.

Christopher had oral surgery to remove his four wisdom teeth on December 21st, which was considered a difficult procedure. Thank you to those who prayed for him, because it was a difficult recovery at some points, but he is mostly back to normal now as the surgical wounds continue to close up and the holes in his gums slowly, gradually grow new tissue. He still has a bit of inflammation, which we're unsure about, so we continue to pray for his healing.

The girls are doing fine, by the grace of God, continuing with their jobs, and living together in their own place. Faith and Charity were very sick with a nasty, respiratory flu that has been afflicting many people in this area. But thank the Lord they are mostly better now, still dealing with some remaining symptoms like cough and congestion. Thankfully Hope did not get it.

Ministry: As we continue to administer our discipleship training school (DTS), now in its eighth year, we'd like to update you on the good things that God is doing with it. By the grace of God, we currently have disciples in five nations including Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria, South Sudan, and the United Kingdom.

Sister Mwendwa in Kenya has now found two LTG partners to meet with each week for discipleship, which she was supposed to begin meeting with on Sunday, January 14th. She wrote to Len in December saying, "I appreciate this school. If all churches took members on these topics, the churches would be extremely fruitful." Praise the Lord.

Len also received the following testimony from sister Catherine in England this weekend. She stated:

"Dear brother Len and sis Jennifer,

I finished the Second Year Fourth Quarter, and they helped  me to grow in our Lord so much. Thank you. Your teachings are so wonderful and encouraging, and I am so much closer to our Lord because of them. Thank you so much. The Doulos Training School has changed my life, and my witnessing to others has improved so much. Thank you, and thank and praise our Lord."

Hallelujah!

In January, Len received the following testimony from brother Max in Uganda:

"Praise the Lord, brother Len!

I testify to the goodness of God for having kept me and my family.

Through DTS I have obtained discipline in reading and studying the Word of God in a higher dimension. This has improved my culture of reading, and I remain grateful to God.

I thank God that my three children passed to go the next level of their classes. And finally, provision of God for my University and for children is what I'm grateful for. May God bless all DTS students worldwide. Amen."

Praise the Lord!

Brother Max's wife, Rebecca, also sent the following testimony this weekend:

"Praise the Lord Jesus, Brother Len,

I am grateful to God that He gave the opportunity to minister the Gospel in a crusade, and eight people gave their lives to Christ. Many platforms to preach the gospel and prayer have opened greatly, at work, in Church, and in the Community. I believe it is the work of God.

God has given us good health. We have the zeal to seek and serve God, as we keep learning from the DTS coursework and from God's convictions as we pray.

God has also given us the grace to expand our business of metal welding and fabrication. Thank you for always praying for us and teaching us to be committed and accountable through DTS,
God bless you."

Glory to God! It's wonderful to hear what the Lord has been doing in both sister Rebecca's and her husband, Max's lives.

You may recall from a previous newsletter that the Lord helped us to raise funds for sister Marina in Bulgaria to replace her car that was destroyed by a flood back in September. She has since found and purchased a temporary car to drive until she can find something better. It's an older, high-mileage Toyota, but at least she has a car to drive, so we thank the Lord for providing it, and trust that it will be reliable until she can find a better one.

Len also sent out the Old News That's Still Fresh in January to pastors, elders, disciples, and laborers in the harvest in North America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia. We encourage you to read it also, as it contains some excellent articles you won't find anywhere else.

We would like to share with you a brief article highlighting the ministries of three of our graduates at the following link.

In closing, we have much to praise God for, and many opportunities for you to join us in prayer.

Praise the Lord with us for the many answers to prayer:
  1. For Christopher's successful oral surgery without any complications, adverse drug reactions, infections, or dry sockets, and for a successful first week of college studies.
  2. For blessing Marina with a car to replace the one she lost.
  3. For the amazing testimonies of God's work in the lives of our students, especially the eight people who got saved through sister Rebecca's preaching.
  4. For the opportunity to assist each of our students in becoming disciples of Christ and fulfilling their callings.
  5. For the Lord's leading, guidance, wisdom, and help administering the Doulos Training School (DTS), and for the progress the students are making.
Prayer needs:
  1. For the Lord to help Christopher to find an excellent, good-paying job in the IT field.
  2. For the Lord to provide for all the needs of our DTS students.
  3. For the Lord to assist us with the administration of the Doulos Training School (DTS), as well as develop through it many disciples who multiply disciples.
  4. For the Lord to help all of our DTS students to find LTG partners (another Christian to meet with weekly for discipleship in a Life Transformation Group).
  5. For the Lord to fulfill His purposes for us and our ministry.
Thank you so much for your partnership in this ministry.

with love from all of us,

The Lacroixs
