July Update -- 2023

Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ! We're pleased to share with you the wonderful things the Lord has been doing in our lives and ministry.

Family
: In July, Christopher continued to search for employment, applying for many jobs online, submitting his cover letter and resume to many employers. But so far none have called him for an interview.

One job he applied for seems like it would be perfect for him. It's a Support Desk Administrator position with a Christian Academy, in which he would be working remotely from home. They want someone who loves Jesus, loves children, and loves to solve problems. The website indicated that around 351 other people also applied for the position. Please pray that he gets the job.

We mentioned last month that the girls -- Faith, Hope, and Charity -- recently moved into their own apartment, and have a need for various furniture items. The Lord provided them with an old, wooden dining room set that was in decent condition, which Len and Christopher picked up for them and delivered to their place in a truck. Please pray that the Lord will provide all the furniture they need.

Jennifer got called up for jury duty, but when she reported for duty, they released her without requiring her to serve, which was an answer to prayer. Joseph also completed his scholastic achievement tests at the end of the school year, and is currently enjoying summer break from school.

Ministry: As we continue to administer our discipleship training school (DTS), now in its eighth year, we'd like to update you on the good things that God is doing with it. By the grace of God, we currently have disciples in five nations including Uganda, Nigeria, Kenya, South Sudan, and the United Kingdom.

One of our DTS students in Uganda, sister Christine, has recently completed her three-year training with us. She was an excellent student throughout her training. She would always submit an in-depth, well-written document containing all of her lessons learned for each of the courses she completed each quarter, as well as the highlights she enjoyed the most.

She also maintained her weekly LTG discipleship meetings, while also participating actively in her local church. And one thing that made it all especially challenging for her was that she works in another city a long distance from where she lives. So she has to commute to work at the beginning of each week, remain throughout the week in the location where she works, and then commute back home for the weekend.

When she enrolled in the DTS in June 2020, she stated, "I want to enroll...so that I can get to know God more, walk with Him always, and learn how to make Him known to other people effectively." When she was asked in June, after completing all of her coursework, whether she reached her goal, she stated:

"Yes I have met my goal through DTS. Through DTS training I have learnt a lot about God, about man, and what is expected of me as a disciple of Jesus Christ.

Further my knowledge of God has increased. I do not boast in this knowledge, but my prayer is that I remain focused, my eyes forever fixed unto the Lord Jesus Christ the author and finisher of our salvation.

Moreover, I have been taught what the life of a servant of God should be, and how to make God known in the right way; and not be silent, but declare the gospel of the Lord Jesus without fear. Sincerely I can say that DTS exceeded my expectations, in terms of the personal goals I had hoped to achieve through it. Glory be to God Almighty.

God's blessings rest upon you all. Thank you."

Praise the Lord! To God be all the glory.  We held her graduation ceremony by conference call on July 14th, and the Lord truly blessed us with His presence. Her husband was present, and her pastor, who presented her DTS diploma to her, as well as her DTS transcript, both of which Len sent to him in advance for printing. They laid hands on her and prayed for her, as we all prayed for her also.

In July, Len received the following testimony from brother Henry in South Sudan, who is one of our DTS students there and a pastor:

"Dear bro Len,

I am so grateful to God for one woman who accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and savior during our door to door evangelism and her zeal for Christ is extraordinary.

Yours faithfully,
Bro Henry."

Hallelujah! We share in his excitement and gratitude for this one sinner who repented. There is more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who do not need to repent. This woman is that one lost sheep who was found, and another one of satan's former captives who has now been set free.

In July, Len received the following testimony from one of our graduates in Kenya, brother Ibrahim, who received a scholarship to study Data Science for fourteen months:

"Dear Brother Len,

During the last month (June) I received a call for an interview from DanChurchAid Kenya which I participated in. The HR informed me that there would be two more (written and oral) if I happen to pass the first. Within 3 days I received an email to attend the oral interview which I did, and the HR informed me that they had cancelled the second one. On the same day I was requested to avail my references and within a week I got the internship opportunity as a Data Analysis and Reporting Assistant Intern for one year. And beginning the third week of internship, we traveled from Nairobi to Eldoret, and for the first time in life, I boarded a plane. This is what The Lord has done for me, brother Len.

Always thank you for keeping me in prayers.

Yours in Christ,

Ibrahim Ambale."

Praise the Lord! Surely the Lord has done great things for brother Ibrahim, and we rejoice with him. Please pray that he will do well on all his exams and complete his training successfully.

We would like to share a praise report regarding sister Catherine, one of our DTS students in England, who will soon be interviewed on God TV, in order to share her testimony. She wrote to us in July:

"Dear brother Len and sis Jennifer,

I have now finished the five Fire books in the amazing DTS. I found the stories of going to hell really got to me a lot. They made me think of the seriousness of our sins every day, to repent more and more, to keep our Lord's Commandments… to strive to be more obedient every day, to draw closer with our Lord, to pray without ceasing, and to witness at every opportunity with great urgency.

The stories of visits to Heaven gave me a lot of encouragement, and they helped me to realise how much our Lord loves us so much, which is so amazing, because growing up I never knew any love until I met Jesus face to face.

I strongly recommend all Christians to read the 5 Fire Books. They have changed my life and brought me much closer to our Lord.

The [folks from] God TV are coming with their cameras to interview me about my testimony on Wednesday 19th July 2023. So this witness will be on TV soon.

With love in our Lord Jesus Christ,

Sis Catherine."

Praise the Lord!

Brother Max in Uganda, who is one of our students there, sent us this testimony in July:

"Praise be to Jesus, dear brother Len. Thanks for always serving us. It's my prayer that God will preserve you and your family.

I testify of God's provision for me and my family including the grace to balance between my concurrent studies. l am reading a lot, which is [made possible by the] grace given by God for me to do so.

Secondly, through my LTG group meeting I testify of the fact that my personal life has changed as the five accountability questions help to shape my life. My relationship with the Holy Spirit has moved my hearing of God's voice to a better level, being mindful of others [besides] myself. I can clearly see [the difference from how I was] before I joined DTS.

Thank you for all you are doing to the glory of God."

Brother Martin, one of our DTS students in Uganda, who is also a pastor, sent us the following praise report in July, during his extended trip to his homeland in South Sudan:

"Hello brother Len,

I greet you in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

I’m still in Juba, which is the capital of South Sudan. South Sudan is very expensive in terms of rental and feeding. However, I met new friends here in Juba, and God has opened the door for me to start door-to-door outreach to encourage people who are among the poorest of S. Sudan.  I’m really thankful to God who helped me to join DTS.

I started my LTG group last week here in Juba. Thank you. Please remember us in your prayers!

Brother Martin Kuku."

Len received the following testimony from brother Grace in Uganda, who is a pastor and one of our DTS graduates.

"Praise the Lord, brother Len,

I thank God who is sustaining our family amid severe trials! There is every reason to step back; [but] when the trials grow severe, God  always prevails!

And again amid all these, our ministry of healing and deliverance is still going on by God's grace. I still receive calls from people seeking deliverance throughout.  Thank you, Jesus!

Bro Grace."

How wonderful to get this report from brother Grace, who is remaining grateful to God, and continuing to serve Him in the midst of fiery trials. Let's continue to remember him in our prayers, as he is truly making an impact for Christ there in Uganda, and is a great help to us, too.

Two of our students, brothers Shadrach and Stanley, are still in need of LTG partners. Please continue to pray that they will find partners.

Partnership Opportunity: If the Lord is leading you to financially support this important ministry, which is impacting the lives of so many people for Christ around the world by the grace of God, your cheerful obedience to Him would be greatly appreciated. Our partners are a vital part of what we're doing, and we'd love for you to be one of them!

Note: Some words in the recorded testimonies above may have been changed to correct the grammar and spelling, and to enhance their clarity and readability. This was done without changing the meaning.

In closing, we have much to praise God for, and many opportunities for you to join us in prayer.

Praise the Lord with us for the many answers to prayer:
  1. For the opportunity for Joseph and Jennifer to take a break from home school studies for the summer.
  2. For the way Jennifer was released from jury duty without having to serve.

  11. For the Lord's leading, guidance, wisdom, and help administering the Doulos Training School (DTS), and for the progress the students are making.
Prayer needs:
