June Update -- 2021

Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ!  We're pleased to share with you the wonderful things the Lord has been doing in our lives and ministry.

Family
: Since late May until now, we as a family have all been fighting an illness. Please remember us in prayer for healing.

Len had the book printed that he wrote about Andrew Stenhouse called A Willing Heart, which we mentioned in our last two newsletters. The book has already been published online at awillingheart.org, and the free e-book is available there. His desire now is to distribute the book to pastors throughout the country. So far, one pastor has agreed to distribute a few copies within his circle.

Ministry: As we continue to administer our discipleship training school (DTS), we'd like to update you on the good things that God is doing with it. By the grace of God, we currently have disciples in six nations including Uganda, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

We are pleased to report that another one of our students in Uganda has completed the three-year DTS. Praise the Lord! He is a pastor in Lira named Charles, and we will soon be having his graduation ceremony, once we are all well enough to do it. Here is what he wrote upon completion of the training:

"Good Morning Brother Len,

Greetings From Uganda and what a great joy hearing from you again this new month. Am blessed to have been connected to you through the training. From the onset i knew that i was not learning another doctrine but being impacted with divine knowledge and wisdom that has helped me do great things for the kingdom."

Another new student from Uganda has enrolled into our DTS. Her name is Juliet and she is twenty-eight years old. Here is her testimony of how she was saved in 2015:

"I grew up in a family where love was rare. I hardly saw my parents love each other. We kept almost all days crying and in sorrow, because dad used to tell mum that he would kill her. In that kind of state, I desired so much to hear someone with a different talk and maybe a smile. When one friend called Micheal shared with me about a church that taught [the true] gospel, I hurriedly visited and surrendered my life to Christ."

Praise the Lord. Here are the reasons she gave for enrolling in the school: "1) To know more about Christ; 2) To get the Bible truth and its reality in life; 3) To be an impact to many by making more disciples, through teachings and living an exemplary life; 4) To get more mentors, especially from DTS, as my pastor [introduced] me to this school after [sharing] a number of testimonies from the teachings."

Sister Juliet is off to a great start in her training, and within one week after starting, she already found two LTG partners to join her in her discipleship group. We look forward to serving her during the next three years in our journey together.

In June a new student named Catherine from the UK enrolled in the DTS. She came to know the Lord when she was seventeen years old after dying in an accident. Here is her testimony:

"When I was seventeen years old, I died and went to heaven and met Jesus face-to-face, and He said, 'It is not your time yet, I have work for you to do, but I cannot promise you will be free from pain, you have a choice.'"

I said,  'Yes, Lord, whatever you say, I will do.' So I came back down a tunnel, and the doctor thought he had seen a ghost. So I was born again. I accepted  Jesus into my heart."

She gave the following reason for enrolling in the DTS:

"I have read some of your amazing articles and found your course on the internet. I have been teaching a friend, John, who is a new Christian, about being a Christian, and giving him Bible studies; and our Lord has prompted me to do a Bible study course, as I know our Lord will use me to witness and use my testimony of going to heaven and back and meeting Jesus. I have a burning desire to witness to the lost.  Some have been saved through my testimony. I have found people ask so many questions about the Bible and God, and I am not always equipped to answer them all.  I long to serve our Lord more."

Praise the Lord! We look forward to serving sister Catherine over the next three years.

Brother Jimmy in Uganda sent the following testimony to Len in June:

"Glory the God , it has been a tough moment for our family, but we thank God all is well now. Last month all the family of my stepmother were affected by coronavirus, but thank God all of them came out of hospital alive [and] recovered. My stepmother was on oxygen for almost every hour for the two weeks that they were in the hospital, but all nine people in the family survived. Glory to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."

Please join us in praying for the Lord to provide brother Jimmy with a new smartphone to conduct his studies, since his phone was recently stolen in Kampala. Pray also for brother Uchenna to be able to purchase a new smartphone, as well, for the same purpose.

In June, Len received the following testimony from brother John in Uganda. He wrote:

"Greetings in the name of Jesus! It has been a great pleasure being part of the DTS! A lot is learnt, and the future seem brightening. Now I can see the person masterminding the agenda behind one world  order and one religion! To think that world peace will come by gathering all religions believing in their own different saviours, is a lie, because there is no any peace possible, outside Jesus Christ! For He is the Prince of peace Himself. Jesus also said He brings a a sword not peace that will make family turn against each other. So no one should deceive anyone on this Earth, to bring a form of peace to mankind, outside Jesus! For He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life -- no other way. Hallelujah!  I am blessed to know this Truth and put in my heart and Spirit. Thank God for DTS."

According to brother Grace, our Facilitator in Uganda, "Brother Tom has been meeting students from other universities, but after interacting they are asking him to let them know more about DTS! They say there is much more truth they are seeing from DTS than what they have learnt from other colleges and universities! DTS is breathing life into God's people. It's beyond comparison and I pray Tom will himself testify next time."

Praise the Lord for this wonderful report. Brother Tom is a pastor in Lira, Uganda.

We mentioned previously that brother James, one of our Ugandan DTS graduates, had applied for a Jesus Film Projector from the Jesus Film Project. He has since reported to us in June that he has received the projector he requested.

One of the requirements he had to agree to, in order to receive the projector, was to show the film 50 times per year. So when he is not using it himself, he is going to keep it at the church there in Lira, so that others can sign it out like you would a library book, use it to show the film, and then return it afterward, so that others can use it. So it will be a shared resource, but he will be responsible for ensuring that it is used fifty times per year and that it is kept in a safe place when it is not being used. He is also responsible to report back to the Jesus Film Project each month to let them know how many times the projector was used to show the film during that period, where it was shown and to whom, how many people made decisions for Christ, and any other relevant information about the viewings. Please pray that this will result in a great harvest of souls, wherever the film is shown, especially among the unreached people groups like the Muslims.

Sister Dorcas in South Africa sent the following testimony to Len in June:

"Good morning Br  Len,

Hope you are doing well and the family by the grace of God. Hallelujah...

I just want to say God has been good. I thank God for really making a way to meet up with your post on Facebook [that was] shared by a friend.. I really appreciate God for [the DTS], because my life is no longer since I joined. I now have more knowledge of God, and now I have courage to preach the Gospel in the streets of Johannesburg, and I can spend more time reading the Word of God and fasting and prayer. I thank God for using your life as well for touching our lives. I'm gaining more knowledge everyday [of] the things I didn't know. They are opened now. I really thank God... I'm so happy to be part of DTS, and I am grateful.. Praise be to God Almighty

Sr Dorcas"

Sister Florence sent the following testimony to Len in June:

Dear br. Len,

I want to give glory to God for the DTS.

Right from the start of my studies, I decided to always share with my family the modules I have read. Personally what opened my eyes was the module For the Glory of God Alone. By and large I had strongly believed that what matters to God is one's heart, [and] nothing else. Every time I would encounter the teaching of giving God glory, I would there and then request to say something, and I [would] give examples of other teachers and preachers. But I thank God Almighty and the Holy Spirit for opening my understanding in that whatever I do, I must bring glory to God.

For the past two weeks,  there's a fresh fire [that] I can't express that is in my family altar. All of us participate in the sharing.

Glory be to God
Thanks,
Sister Florence"

Len sent out his monthly edition of Old News That's Still Fresh in June to pastors, elders, and laborers in the harvest in the US, Europe, Australia, Africa, and Asia.

Resources: We would like to invite you to read or listen to the following recent podcasts from A Willing Heart that Len has posted: Angelic Protection in Afghanistan, Amazing Divine Healing of Patients, Taking Care of People and Soul Willing, and Count it All Loss. Len also posted a new article called How to Pray for the Devil. For those who did not see our newsletter last month, A Willing Heart is the amazing biography of Dr. Andrew Stenhouse, one of our board members. We would like to remind you that Len's entire collection of his most popular blogs are at Writing for the Master.

In closing, we have much to praise God for, and many opportunities for you to join us in prayer.

Praise the Lord with us for the many answers to prayer:
  1. For sustaining us as a family as we are fighting this illness.
  2. For all of the many student testimonies, regarding how the Lord is impacting their lives through the DTS in amazing ways.
  3. For the addition of our new DTS students, sisters Juliet and Catherine.
  4. For helping brother Charles to finish his three years of training.
  5. For providing the free Jesus Film projector for brother James and those with whom he will share that ministry resource.
  6. For the opportunity to assist each of our students in becoming disciples of Christ and fulfilling their callings.
  7. For the Lord's leading, guidance, and help administering the Doulos Training School (DTS), and for the progress the students are making.
  8. For the lives being touched for Christ around the world through our writing ministry.
Next steps and prayer needs:
  1. For the Lord to heal our whole family from the illness, as well as to heal Faith and Len from eczema.
  2. For the Lord to provide for all the needs of our DTS students in the hardships they're experiencing.
  3. For the Lord to provide new smartphones for brothers Jimmy and Uchenna.
  4. For the Lord to assist all our DTS students in any life challenges they may be experiencing.
  5. For the Lord to assist us with the administration of the Doulos Training School (DTS), as well as develop through it many disciples who multiply disciples.
  6. For the Lord to help all of our DTS students to find LTG partners (another Christian to meet with weekly for discipleship in a Life Transformation Group), and help them finish all their course work for the current quarter by the end of this month.
  7. For the Lord to fulfill His purposes for us and our ministry.
  8. For the Lord to raise up new faith partners, and for Him to provide for all our needs -- not only ours personally, but also those of the ministry.
Thank you so much for your partnership in this ministry.

with love from all of us,

The Lacroixs
