December Update -- 2022

Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ! We're pleased to share with you the wonderful things the Lord has been doing in our lives and ministry.

Family
: In November, we celebrated Thanksgiving dinner together as a family. By the grace of God, we were all able to be together for this holiday feast, and everyone gave thanks to the Lord specifically in prayer for His many blessings that we enjoy. Prior to the meal, a few of us went for a walk together, as it was a beautiful sunny day, and we captured some photos of the beautiful scenery, which are at the link below.

Since the days immediately following Thanksgiving, we have been suffering from a severe cold and flu, which has sickened all of us except Hope and Charity. Some of us like Len were sick in bed for days. Len, Jennifer, and Faith are still experiencing lingering symptoms of head congestion, runny nose, and tiredness. We'd appreciate prayer for healing.

Len's oldest sister Janet had surgery in November to remove a small cancerous breast tumor. We praise God that the surgery was successful, and the Lord blessed her with a full recovery afterward. The doctor told her during the follow up visit that "everything could not possibly be any better." Praise the Lord!

The girls continue to work at their jobs and enjoy what they do. Faith shared the Lord with a coworker named Devon, who is agnostic. She challenged him to pray when he is all alone, and ask the Lord that if He is real that He would reveal Himself to him. We don't know whether he prayed that prayer.

However, afterward, there was an interesting incident that occurred at work while Hope was working with Devon. He looked up and turned his head as if he was hearing something. When she asked what the matter was, he said that he kept hearing someone audibly calling his name. It happened three times, but there was nobody actually calling his name. He didn't understand it, so Hope told him the Bible story of what happened when the Lord called Samuel's name three times and finally Eli the priest told him to say, "Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening." She told him that it was probably the Lord calling his name. We don't know if he responded yet to the Lord as Samuel did, but we've been praying the Lord would save his soul. Please join us in praying for Devon's salvation.

Charity also had an interesting incident at work. The store manager of the grocery store where she works was raised as a Pentecostal Christian, but does not seem to necessarily be a practicing Christian currently. One day at work, she came to Charity, asking her to come with her to a motor room, where she closed the door and spoke to Charity amidst the loud noise from the motors. She asked Charity, "You're Pentecostal, right?" Then she shared some personal difficulties and trials she is going through, and asked Charity to pray for her, which Charity did. The next day, the assistant store manager named Fay came to Charity, saying she heard that she is a woman of prayer, and asking Charity to pray for healing from a serious shoulder injury she had experienced. So Charity prayed for her, too. We assume the store manager told the assistant manager that she should go and ask Charity to pray for her.

A week or so later, Charity gave the store manager Jennifer's contact info, and told her that her mother would love to get together to talk and pray with her if she wanted to. In response to that, Nancy her manager thanked her and gave her a hug. Obviously the Lord directed all of this, and we are very grateful for the opportunity He is giving Charity to be a light at her new job in the produce department there. Please join us in praying for Fay's healing, and for the Lord to use the trials Nancy is going through to redirect her to Himself.

Ministry: As we continue to administer our discipleship training school (DTS), now in its eighth year, we'd like to update you on the good things that God is doing with it. By the grace of God, we currently have disciples in five nations including Uganda, Nigeria, Kenya, South Sudan, and the United Kingdom.

In November, brother Deji, one of our graduates in Nigeria, sent the following ministry update to us:

"Dear Brother Len,

Greetings to you in the mighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I like to let you know that the Lord opened a door for a week mission trip to the Republic of Benin; a neighbouring country to Nigeria's east.

It was one to strengthen those that were already believers as a result of an evangelistic work of the evangelist that I went there with. I trust that other visits to this country will involve evangelism and not only teaching and discipleship. We departed on October 31, and returned on November 7. We already plan to go back in March and my wife and I are already talking of going for the next one together.

I'm grateful to the Lord for that opportunity. Praise the Lord. The Lord bless you.

Deji"

Len received the following email in December from brother John, one of our DTS graduates, who is a pastor in Uganda. He wrote:

"Greetings Bro Len and Sister Jennifer, its my great pleasure to thank God for two of you in the great work you are doing, by God's grace to see us grow and be more mature and steady, to rightly divide the Word of God. I am getting bolder like a Lion to fear nothing from our enemy the devil, after receiving such great and more knowledge in this DTS. Indeed it is said, "Knowledge is power." I am so blessed with the knowledge, I have received in this DTS. It has made me bolder, more sober, and to always have an answer, to so many questions asked, [as well as] matters brought for counselling. Almost all matters of concern are being handled in this DTS, like the tattoos, doctrinal issues, baptism of the Holy Spirit, and much more! When I do counselling, people are left in tears and receive an inner healing that manifests out with joy! And they bless the Lord for that! I am so grateful to God and DTS. God bless you, Bro Len & Sis Jennifer. I highly appreciate your ministry unto God's people. Thank you.

Bro John Matogo Babu
Uganda."

Note: Some words in the recorded testimonies above may have been changed to correct the grammar and spelling, and to enhance their clarity and readability. This was done without changing the meaning.

In closing, we have much to praise God for, and many opportunities for you to join us in prayer.

Praise the Lord with us for the many answers to prayer:
  1. For blessing us with a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner together as a family.
  2. For the open doors of opportunity to be a witness that He has given to Faith, Hope, and Charity in their jobs.
  3. For the amazing testimonies of God's work in the lives of our students and graduates, and their brethren in Christ.
  4. For the opportunity to assist each of our students in becoming disciples of Christ and fulfilling their callings.
  5. For the Lord's leading, guidance, wisdom, and help administering the Doulos Training School (DTS), and for the progress the students are making.
Prayer needs:
  1. For the Lord to redirect Charity's store manager Nancy to a deep, abiding, personal relationship with Jesus, where she can find the comfort that only He can give, and to heal her assistant manager Fay from the shoulder injury and recent surgery on it.
  2. For the Lord to save Devon's soul, who has been hearing someone calling him by name.
  3. For the Lord to provide for all the needs of our DTS students.
  4. For the Lord to assist us with the administration of the Doulos Training School (DTS), as well as develop through it many disciples who multiply disciples.
  5. For the Lord to help all of our DTS students to find LTG partners (another Christian to meet with weekly for discipleship in a Life Transformation Group).
  6. For the Lord to fulfill His purposes for us and our ministry.
Thank you so much for your partnership in this ministry.

with love from all of us,

November Update -- 2022

Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ! We're pleased to share with you the wonderful things the Lord has been doing in our lives and ministry.

Family
: In November, we celebrated Hope's twenty-second birthday with cake, cards, gifts, and prayer for her.

We've been enjoying the rich colors of the fall foliage this season.

Charity has been working at both of her new jobs at the Christian bookstore and the grocery store produce department, and she seems to be doing fine learning her new skills. Unfortunately the grocery store doesn't provide training, so she just has to figure things out as she goes along. This has been a bit challenging, but she is handling it well.

Dave Wenrich, one of our board members, who had kidney surgery in October, has recovered and had the stent removed. So thank you for your prayers for him!

Ministry: By the grace of God, we are celebrating sixteen years of ministry, since we founded Doulos Missions International. Praise the Lord! And thanks to each of you who have continued faithfully praying for us all these years, as well as you who have continued faithfully supporting us financially.

As we continue to administer our discipleship training school (DTS), now in its eighth year, we'd like to update you on the good things that God is doing with it. By the grace of God, we currently have disciples in six nations including Uganda, Nigeria, Kenya, South Sudan, India, and the United Kingdom.

In October, brother John, one of our students in Uganda, who is a pastor there, sent the following praise report to us:

"I would like to thank God and Bro Len for connecting me to Jesus Film Ministry to receive Jesus Film equipment. By the grace of God, my equipment arrived in Uganda, and I was able to officially receive it on Wednesday 18th October 2022.

May the Lord bless you more, Bro Len and Sister Jennifer. For your labour is not in vain in the Lord to see the Kingdom of God business advancing. Hallelujah! Glory be to Jesus our Lord. Love you all.

Yours,

Bro John Babu"

Len received the following email in November from brother Henry, one of our DTS graduates, who is in South Sudan and Uganda. He wrote:

"Praise the Lord, bro Leonard,

I have acquired land for establishing a ministry, for long I had the vision but always putting it in prayers for the Land."

We rejoice with brother Henry on this answer to his prayers and fulfillment of his vision.

Brother Grace, who is one of our graduates and facilitators, and a pastor in Uganda, went to his daughter Vicky's university-graduation ceremony in October, and had a wonderful testimony. He wrote:

"Vicky got her graduation materials late; the devil tried using some lady to steal them from her, but they were found immediately! Glory to God!

So we are spending our night here in the Mbale police barracks, where also after entering here [in this town], I prayed for two men to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord. This all happened in a saloon.

After three hours both men -- Remy and Francis -- called and testified the Lord gave them customers and business immediately, and money that has never happened before! Glory to Him!

We are proceeding to Mukono early morning and will get in touch.

Shalom,
Grace"

Praise the Lord! However, we ask for your continued prayers for Brother Grace's healing, as he had another heart attack in November following the major heart attack he had in October. On a separate note, the problems he had been having with his phone that he uses for ministry as our Facilitator are also mostly resolved. We give the Lord all the praise.

In November, Len received the following testimony from brother Martin in Uganda:

"Hello Brother Len,

I greet you all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

DTS online studies…have…help me to learn a lot [about] God's character [and] actions in relation to the universe, particularly [in] relation to humanity…

I’ve also learned that I can only recognize the voice and activity of the Holy Spirit by spending time with Him.

I’ve also learned that the Holy Spirit is active in my everyday life and well-being, when I let Him. After reading and studying the Bible and spending time in prayer, I learned to discern the direction and influence of the Holy Spirit. As I pay close attention and obey, amazing things happen in Jesus Mighty name.

Thank you, Brother Len, for DTS program. May God bless you and your family….

Yours in Him!
Brother Martin"

Note: Some words in the recorded testimonies above have been changed to correct the grammar and spelling, and to enhance their clarity and readability. This was done without changing the meaning.

In closing, we have much to praise God for, and many opportunities for you to join us in prayer.

Praise the Lord with us for the many answers to prayer:
  1. For giving us sixteen years of ministry, by His grace, since we founded Doulos Missions International in the fall of 2006.
  2. For allowing us to celebrate Hope's birthday together.
  3. For helping Charity learn the new skills at her two new part time jobs.
  4. For the amazing testimonies of God's work in the lives of our students and graduates, and their brethren in Christ.
  5. For helping brother John in Uganda to get the new Jesus Film equipment.
  6. For helping brother Grace to travel to his daughter's graduation from the university.
  7. For providing brother Henry with the land he needs for his ministry.
  8. For the opportunity to assist each of our students in becoming disciples of Christ and fulfilling their callings.
  9. For the Lord's leading, guidance, wisdom, and help administering the Doulos Training School (DTS), and for the progress the students are making.
Next steps and prayer needs:
  1. For the Lord to completely heal brother Grace's heart and keep him from having any more heart attacks.
  2. For the Lord to provide for all the needs of our DTS students.
  3. For the Lord to assist us with the administration of the Doulos Training School (DTS), as well as develop through it many disciples who multiply disciples.
  4. For the Lord to help all of our DTS students to find LTG partners (another Christian to meet with weekly for discipleship in a Life Transformation Group).
  5. For the Lord to fulfill His purposes for us and our ministry.
Thank you so much for your partnership in this ministry.

October Update -- 2022

Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ! We're pleased to share with you the wonderful things the Lord has been doing in our lives and ministry.

Family
: In October, we celebrated Jennifer's birthday with cake, cards, gifts, and prayer for her.

In October, Christopher successfully completed the college course he is taking on the topic of "Windows Single User", which means he only has one more course left to take in the spring semester.

Meanwhile, Charity got a new part-time job at a nearby Christian bookstore, as well as another part-time job at a grocery store produce department. Praise the Lord! Both jobs are new fields for her that she has not worked in before, so these are great opportunities to learn new skills and gain new experience. But please join us in praying the Lord will help her come up the learning curve, and that she will have the strength to handle both jobs at once.

We mentioned last month that we as a family have been distributing the Jesus Film DVD and some gospel tracts, as well as Len's salvation testimony and his book, A Willing Heart to Please the Father, throughout a nearby community. We finished that outreach in October as expected. Pray that the Lord would water the seeds of the gospel that we have been planting and continue to plant.

Our Treasurer Dave Wenrich had kidney surgery again recently and needs our prayers for a smooth recovery, as well as a complete healing.

Ministry: As we continue to administer our discipleship training school (DTS), we'd like to update you on the good things that God is doing with it. By the grace of God, we currently have disciples in eight nations including Uganda, Nigeria, Kenya, South Sudan, Zambia, Ghana, India, and the United Kingdom.

In September, one of our students in Nigeria named Hannah graduated. We had a ceremony to make it official, in which her husband Deji was present. Brother Deji presented to her the DTS certificate of completion and her transcript. We sang and praised the Lord, had a time of testimony, and prayed for her. Sister Hannah is now our eighth graduate. Here is her testimony:

"I want to thank God for the opportunity to go through the coursework. It has imparted in me godly virtues. I want to appreciate the board members of DTS for all the coursework, how to heal the sick videos, Fire books, and all the practical sessions I needed to do throughout the three years training I did. Sometimes I wish to go through the fire book and read it all over again. Thank you for all you have done. I appreciate it. God bless you sir.

There are some biblical teachings I was grounded into during the training, and some [in which] my understanding was enlightened. I have started to [put the teaching on how to heal the sick into practice] on others and my family. A neighbour here complained of serious back pain. I laid my hand at his back and prayed for him. Few days after, I asked him of the pain. He said it has vanished. I was happy that God healed him through me.

I am grateful to God that I went through the training. During the program, sometimes I was discouraged, but the Holy Spirit encouraged me and he saw me through.

Thanks

Hannah"

Len received the following email in October from brother Charles, one of our DTS graduates, who is a pastor in Uganda. He wrote:

"Praise the Lord, Bro. Len:

I praise God for His goodness and mercies over our life at such a time as this. It's a joy to hear from you and be able to share this testimony of God's protection over me...

On 25th July, I was traveling from Soroti to Lira where I stay in Uganda. I had come from Karamoja (North-Eastern part of Uganda) to visit some families who were experiencing famine and acute hunger. On our journey from Soroti to Lira, our taxi was knocked (head-on) by a [truck], and the vehicle overturned four times. Eleven people died (7 on the spot), including the driver. I only broke my collar bone, but God is too merciful that he preserved my life to give glory to His name.

I would like to say thank you to God for the life He has given me, and to also thank you brother Len, Doulos Mission International School, and partners for the knowledge of the Word we acquired during the training program. I am very sure God still wants me to preach His Word, and I vow that I will continue to do so to the last breathe of my life.

Attached are pictures of the wreckage [that] I came out of alive. To God be the glory for the life He has given me. Please continue to pray for me that I recover well.

God bless you all

Bro Charles L Okello
Uganda, East Africa"

Praise the Lord for sparing brother Charles' life through this horrific motor vehicle accident. Please join us in praying for his complete recovery. You can see photos of the accident wreckage here (note that they drive on the left side of the road there like in England).

Brother Grace, who is one of our graduates and facilitators, and a pastor in Uganda, suffered a severe heart attack in October, but is recovering by the grace of God. Afterward he had to travel to his village garden due to a dispute over his boundaries. He wrote

"Dear brother Len,

Me and my wife received an abrupt call from the clan leaders over our land boundary with the neighbours who have been blackmailing us. So we went and rested for 2 days and had to face it all with them today. They wanted so much part of our land, trying to move the boundary inside our land, but we thank God who was on our side; its resolved once and forever.

We are back home to continue with my rest for two weeks."

He added:

"The enemy has lost despite his many attacks. By the way, before we went {to the village], I saw the Lord's angel joined us in the disputed land boundary and was on our side and wasn't happy with the other people. Once more thanks for your spiritual coverage of us! And my health has greatly improved!"

Praise the Lord! Brother Grace has still been having problems with his smartphone freezing up on him when he is trying to use it. He needs the phone to conduct his ministry as our DTS National Facilitator for Uganda, so please pray that the Lord would resolve this problem.

In October, Len received the following testimony from brother Pascal in Uganda, who recently resumed his training with us:

"Praise king Jesus!

I am grateful for what God has done throughout this week in my life. I want to testify that my knowledge of God is increasing, and I experience God closer to me than before. I have the boldness to share Jesus with the lost. I see people confessing Jesus as their Lord and personal Saviour. Reading the Scripture, praying, and fasting every week has become part [my life] of each week, I thank God the people I was praying for [to] be saved are drawing closer to me, [in order] to ask about Christ. I feel like [there is a] fire burning inside me each day when I am studying the Word. I appreciate this course so much. Thanks!

Bro. Pascal"

Brother Deji, one of our graduates in Nigeria that we mentioned earlier in this newsletter, wrote the following testimony in October:

"Dear Brother Len,

Calvary greetings to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I want to testify to the glory of the Lord for many things.

1. The Lord's voice that continually guides us in my family; we are very grateful.

2. The successful completion of Hannah's discipleship training with DTS. Interestingly, we prayerfully chose seven teenagers for both online and physical discipleship in our church at the same time that you were planning to have a graduation ceremony for Hannah. So we feel like the Lord purposely had it that way so that we can know that after "certification" is "intentional service". We really were not planning this kind of coincidence but we know that there's no accident with God.

3. We also thank God for souls that respond to the gospel through us. May the Lord keep them.

Blessed be the name of the Lord. Thanks

Ayodeji"

We received the following email from sister Catherine, who is one of our Second-Year DTS students in England. We had called her the previous day and prayed for the Lord to heal her ear that has been buzzing for two years since her flight back from France, and for her stomach which has been hurting her for almost a year now. She wrote:

"Dear brother Len and sis Jennifer,

Thank you so much for your call last night.  It was wonderful to hear from you both. And thank you so much for your prayer over me for healing. Thank and praise our Lord for healing my ear. It's amazing.  The pain has gone now, and the buzzing has gone away; and the pain in my stomach is a lot less painful, but not gone yet. I keep getting heat in my hands. So I am praying for our Lord's guidance in the healing ministry and witnessing...

With love in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Sis Catherine"

Praise the Lord for His healing touch upon her. She has also recently republished her book, A Flickering Light Becomes a Glow, which is available for sale online. The Lord has also been opening doors of ministry for her to speak at Churches and help women.

Len received the following testimony from brother John in India, who is a second-year DTS student and a pastor there:

"I am very glad and thankful to brother Len, because the topics/Lessons I come across -- like Happy Hunters on Fire, The End has Come, Judging Visions, Revelations, and Prophecies, Holy Fire Baptism -- are very helpful in my ministry. All the topics are reflective and touching me. I thank brother Len and feel happy, and it is a privilege to be a student of the DTS. Brother Len, Greetings in His name.

Humbly,

John Sobhan"

Len also sent out the Old News That's Still Fresh in October to pastors, elders, disciples, and laborers in the harvest in North America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia. We encourage you to read it also.

Note: Some words in the recorded testimonies above have been changed to correct the grammar and spelling, and to enhance their clarity and readability. This was done without changing the meaning.

Resources: If you'd like to be encouraged today, please read Angelic Encounters. We would like to remind you that Len's entire collection of his most popular blogs are at Writing for the Master.

In closing, we have much to praise God for, and many opportunities for you to join us in prayer.

Praise the Lord with us for the many answers to prayer:
  1. For allowing us to celebrate Jennifer's birthday together.
  2. For blessing Charity with two new part time jobs.
  3. For protecting brother Charles during the fatal motor vehicle accident he was involved in.
  4. For the amazing testimonies of God's work in the lives of our students and graduates, and their brethren in Christ.
  5. For healing sister Catherine's ear and further healing her stomach.
  6. For helping us to continue with our evangelistic outreach to another community nearby.
  7. For the opportunity to assist each of our students in becoming disciples of Christ and fulfilling their callings.
  8. For the Lord's leading, guidance, wisdom, and help administering the Doulos Training School (DTS), and for the progress the students are making.
Next steps and prayer needs:
  1. For the Lord to heal Faith and Len from eczema.
  2. For the Lord to heal Charity from insomnia, to help her come up the learning curve at her new jobs, and to give her the strength to do them both
  3. For the Lord to completely heal brother Charles in Uganda from his broken collar bone that he sustained in the motor vehicle accident.
  4. For the Lord to give brother Dave our Treasurer a smooth and complete recovery from kidney surgery.
  5. For the Lord to complete the healing in sister Catherine's stomach.
  6. For the Lord to water all the seeds of the gospel that we are continuing to plant through our evangelistic community outreach with the Jesus Film DVD.
  7. For the Lord to provide for all the needs of our DTS students.
  8. For the Lord to assist us with the administration of the Doulos Training School (DTS), as well as develop through it many disciples who multiply disciples.
  9. For the Lord to help all of our DTS students to find LTG partners (another Christian to meet with weekly for discipleship in a Life Transformation Group).
  10. For the Lord to fulfill His purposes for us and our ministry.
  11. For the Lord to raise up new faith partners, and for Him to provide for all our needs -- not only ours personally, but also those of the ministry.
Thank you so much for your partnership in this ministry.

September Update - 2022

Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ! We're pleased to share with you the wonderful things the Lord has been doing in our lives and ministry.

Family
: In September, the boys resumed their home-school education, and Christopher had already begun the fall semester of his college studies. The course he is taking on the topic of "Windows Single User" is due to be completed on October 7th, so he has less than four weeks left.

Meanwhile, Faith shared that one of her coworkers in the Deli / Bakery at the grocery store gave her a gift that really blessed her. The gift is a painting this lady created (pictured above). The lady is an older woman, who is also a sister in Christ that recently took up painting as a hobby. But when Faith brought the painting home and showed us, we could see it was very beautiful and that this lady is very gifted by the Lord with artistic talent. The painting is good enough to be in an art gallery, and she gave Faith the original.

She told Faith that her friendship with Faith had rekindled her faith. She said that she wanted Faith to have this painting, and that when she did the painting, she had Faith in mind, and was picturing herself in the bottom right corner on a rock spending time with the Lord with the water cascading down across the rocks above her.  It is based on the hymn called "In the Garden" that says, "I come to the garden alone, while the dew is still on the roses." The gift of the painting really touched Faith's heart, especially because of the kindness of this lady, and how much the painting meant to the artist. Faith said her coworker was getting emotional as she was giving it to her. Pray the Lord will really bless this sister named Lea (pronounced LEE-ah) and multiply her artistic gift for the glory of God.

We mentioned last month that we as a family have been distributing the Jesus Film DVD and some gospel tracts, as well as Len's salvation testimony and his book, A Willing Heart to Please the Father, throughout a nearby community. Pray that the Lord would water the seeds of the gospel that we have been planting and continue to plant. We estimate we'll be finished in about four weeks.

Ministry: As we continue to administer our discipleship training school (DTS), we'd like to update you on the good things that God is doing with it. By the grace of God, we currently have disciples in nine nations including Uganda, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, South Sudan, Zambia, Ghana, India, and the United Kingdom.

Len received the following emails from sister Rebecca in South Sudan about the challenges she has in accessing the internet, and how she travels for days to reach Juba, where there is internet service:

"Our new area, being an area full of cattle keepers, they always have conflicts among themselves, which leads to loss of lives. Starting from last month to this month, there have been lots of insecurities along the road leading to Juba town from our area. It takes me days to go to town where there is easy access to good internet network, because where I am, there is no internet network...All will be well, because our God is very Faithful. Many thanks for your prayers, I really appreciate it. I take motorcycle from my area up to where there is public transportation, then from there I proceed to town. Within town, the internet network is very good and faster. But I don't go to internet café...Sometimes while am home, I move a little more distance to where there is a mountain or climb a tree to access the mobile network, because our area is still covered by tall trees and bushes which makes network very poor."

Please pray for sister Rebecca. Her story illustrates the challenges our students face being able to access the internet, in order to receive the discipleship training we offer through our school.

Brother Grace, who is one of our graduates and facilitators, and a pastor in Uganda, wrote the following email to Len in September:

"Dear brother Len,

Our God is so loving and sometimes with tears of joy we testify what He has done and continues to do great things.

We have the case of a lady by the name Brenda who was dying in the house last week. The neighbours having realized when they heard the snoring noise and struggle, broke the door and carried her unconscious to our altar. The Lord healed and delivered her instantly! We give Him all the glory and honor! More of these testimonies next time.

Blessings my dear brother
Servant Grace Okurut."

Praise the Lord! Brother Grace has been having serious problems with his smartphone freezing up on him when he is trying to use it. He needs the phone to conduct his ministry as our DTS National Facilitator for Uganda, so please pray that the Lord would resolve this problem.

In September, brother Max in Uganda wrote the following message to Len:

"Glory to God, brother Len,

I would like to testify of the grace of God upon us as our LTG team is reaching out every week to share the Word of God, and the Lord's faithfulness of saving souls is evident.

I also testify of the holy fire of God that I feel in my bones every time I'm reading the word and  ask myself whether all people experience this kind of burning fire, too. As a result I composed and sang a song unto the Lord, 'I'm so glad I'm the temple of the living God', so I would like to say that the beginning of my second year first quarter is timely. Amen."

Praise the Lord!

On a separate but related note, we are also very glad to report that brother Pascal in Uganda has resumed his training with us, since he has now finally gotten a smartphone that he can use to access the training we offer. Praise the Lord! We are glad he's back with us, as he had only begun his training last December when the phone he had at that time began encountering technical problems that forced him to temporarily suspend his training.

Len also sent out the Old News That's Still Fresh in September to pastors, elders, disciples, and laborers in the harvest in North America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia. We encourage you to read it also.

Note: Some words in the recorded testimonies above have been changed to correct the grammar and spelling, and to enhance their clarity and readability. This was done without changing the meaning.

Resources: We would like to remind you that Len's entire collection of his most popular blogs are at Writing for the Master.

In closing, we have much to praise God for, and many opportunities for you to join us in prayer.

Praise the Lord with us for the many answers to prayer:
  1. For blessing Faith with the gift of that beautiful painting from her coworker, and the gift that the Lord has given to her friend Lea.
  2. For blessing brother Paschal with a new smartphone so that he can resume his DTS training, and for bringing him back to us.

August Update -- 2022

Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ! We're pleased to share with you the wonderful things the Lord has been doing in our lives and ministry.

Family
: In August, we celebrated Faith's twentieth birthday with cake, cards, gifts, and prayer for her.

Jennifer also took Faith and the boys to the zoo right before her birthday, and they all had a good time there. You can see photos of the trip at the link below.

Christopher finished his summer semester of college courses, doing well on his final exams. He and his brother Joseph are enjoying a little summer break, before Christopher starts his fall semester college course on Network Operating Systems (NOS) on August 15th.

We mentioned last month that we as a family have been distributing the Jesus Film DVD and some gospel tracts, as well as Len's salvation testimony and his book, A Willing Heart to Please the Father, throughout our entire community. Although we finished that outreach on July 3rd, we are now reaching out to another community adjacent to ours. Pray that the Lord would water the seeds of the gospel that were planted.

Ministry: As we continue to administer our discipleship training school (DTS), we'd like to update you on the good things that God is doing with it. By the grace of God, we currently have disciples in seven nations including Uganda, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, South Sudan, Zambia, India, and the United Kingdom.

We enrolled a new student from Zambia named Chisha into our DTS in August, who will begin his training on September 1. He is a forty-one year old man who came to Christ in 2018, and currently has an evangelism-and-prayer ministry.  Here is his salvation testimony:

"I belonged to a church that denied the existence of hell and the manifestations of the Holy Spirit. I also practiced yoga and Martial arts that made me violent. Then one day I had a dream where I saw a fire burning, and I cried for help. God heard me and helped me quit eastern meditation. Then I started teaching on hell fire and the need for people to accept Jesus as [their] personal Saviour. I met people who taught about the same, and since then have been congregating with them. From that time I do personal evangelism and run an intercessory prayer group."

He shared his reason for enrolling in the DTS saying: "I do the work of an evangelist. This has to do with Bible witnessing and prayers. I have been seeking and praying for a course that can equip me more, and came across your institution. I need to be equipped in my work, and as you have a practical aspect, I believe it will help me with God's help."

Let's pray the Lord helps brother Chisha to accomplish that goal and be equipped for works of service as he begins his DTS training. We look forward to serving him in our journey together over the next three years, so that he might truly become a disciple who multiplies disciples.

Brother Grace, who is one of our graduates and facilitators, and a pastor in Uganda, wrote the following email to Len in August:

"Greetings dear, brother Len, in Jesus' Name!

It is amazing seeing God's miracles of healing and deliverance! Akol Joyce healed instantly from pain of the backbone after going through more than 100 injections as she suffered from meningitis.

Three more were delivered from demonic attacks and witchcraft, and many more, as I will communicate.

A Moslem lady on Sunday received the Lord as we visited one of our Church members; glory to God for all He does!

Your brother,
Grace."

Praise the Lord!

In August, sister Rennie in Uganda wrote the following message to Len:

"Greetings,

I would like to thank God for this discipleship course. It has enabled me to understand who a disciple is.

It also reinvigorated the zeal to read the word of God, and above all I was chosen to take up leadership of the discipleship classes at my local church.

Glory to God in Jesus name."

Praise the Lord!

In August, Len received the following testimony from brother John in Uganda:

"I am sorry, [I'm] on a mission trip for the whole month of August, traversing in the East Africa region visiting Apostolic network members. I need of your prayers.

My Testimony is [that] whatever I am studying in this DTS is practically happening on my journey, and they are just timely [teachings], as I go around meeting church leaders. A lot of pending answers to their questions are being answered from what I [have] studied. There is a lot of dilemma in the body of Christ. Many leaders and Christians are being deceived. Thank God, [because] a lot [of what] I have learnt through DTS has helped sort most of them, especially concerning the [Holy] Trinity, speaking in tongues and Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Thanks to God for the DTS.

Bro John Babu."

Praise the Lord!

Brother John in India, who is a pastor there and one of our students, wrote in August:

"Dear brother Len,
Greetings to you in His precious name.

I am very thankful to you for your encouragement in getting Biblical knowledge.

The DTS course is very useful to me. The subjects like the Holy Trinity, the Person of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit Speaks, and The Spirit Without Limit are very helpful to me. LTG meetings are also useful to me.

Faithfully,
John Sobhan"

Praise the Lord!

Brother Martin in Uganda wrote to Len in August saying:

"I greet you all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

I thank God for my journey of growing through DTS, as well through LTG. Thank you, brother Len.

I came into DTS broken, but I have since been filled by God with love and hope, and I can only give Him the glory for my transformation through LTG. Throughout, I have learned that we mustn’t allow our past mistakes to define who we are, because transformation is possible with God.

Thank you, and all praise and glory to Jesus!
Brother Martin Kuku William"

Brother Uchenna in Nigeria, who is one of our students and a pastor there, has just received word that he has been approved to receive a Jesus Film projector from CRU, a US-based ministry. At this time, CRU is awaiting funding for his equipment, and once they receive it, then they will prepare the equipment and ship it to brother Uchenna.

Len also sent out the Old News That's Still Fresh in August to pastors, elders, disciples, and laborers in the harvest in North America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia.

  1. For blessing us with a happy celebration of Faith's twentieth birthday together.
  2. For helping Christopher to finish his summer college courses, and for blessing them with a summer break.
  3. For enabling brother Uchenna to receive approval on his request for a Jesus Film projector.
  4. For the amazing testimonies of God's work in the lives of our students and their brethren in Christ.
  5. For helping us to continue with our evangelistic outreach to another community nearby.
  6. For the opportunity to assist each of our students in becoming disciples of Christ and fulfilling their callings.
  7. For the Lord's leading, guidance, wisdom, and help administering the Doulos Training School (DTS), and for the progress the students are making.
Next steps and prayer needs:
  1. For the Lord to heal Faith and Len from eczema.
  2. For the Lord to heal Charity from insomnia.
  3. For the Lord to water all the seeds of the gospel that we are continuing to plant through our evangelistic community outreach with the Jesus Film DVD.
  4. For the Lord to provide for all the needs of our DTS students.
  5. For the Lord to assist us with the administration of the Doulos Training School (DTS), as well as develop through it many disciples who multiply disciples.
  6. For the Lord to help all of our DTS students to find LTG partners (another Christian to meet with weekly for discipleship in a Life Transformation Group).
  7. For the Lord to fulfill His purposes for us and our ministry.
  8. For the Lord to raise up new faith partners, and for Him to provide for all our needs -- not only ours personally, but also those of the ministry.
Thank you so much for your partnership in this ministry.

July Update - 2022

Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ! We're pleased to share with you the wonderful things the Lord has been doing in our lives and ministry.

Family
: In June we celebrated Charity's twenty-fourth birthday with cake, cards, gifts, and prayer for her.

Hope has been enjoying her job working with Faith at the grocery store's Deli-Bakery, and has come up the learning curve quite well by the grace of God. Praise the Lord. Pray that she will now become proficient in all of her new job skills.

The boys finished their school year and completed their standardized final exams. They are now on summer break from school, except for Christopher, who is almost finished with his summer semester of college courses, which ends a little more than a week from now on July 24th. He has two more college courses to do (one in the fall and one in the spring), during his high school senior year, in order to complete the certificate program in IT Support.

We mentioned last month that we as a family have been distributing the Jesus Film DVD and some gospel tracts, as well as Len's salvation testimony and his book, A Willing Heart to Please the Father, throughout our entire community. By the grace of God, we finished that outreach on July 3rd. Pray that the Lord would water the seeds of the gospel that were planted.

Ministry: As we continue to administer our discipleship training school (DTS), we'd like to update you on the good things that God is doing with it. By the grace of God, we currently have disciples in seven nations including Uganda, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, South Sudan, India, and the United Kingdom.

Len received the following testimony from brother Tom, one of our students who is a pastor in Uganda:

"Dear Brother Leonard,

Our first showing [of the Jesus Film] was powerful, though we had only sixty people watching. Four people got saved on that day. We have mobilized many people this time and this is scheduled to be on Sunday July 10th. May you help pray for us as we evangelize."

This projector had been shipped to Kampala, Uganda in February for brother Tom, who is in Lira, Uganda, but it was not delivered to him. Len checked up on it with the Jesus Film Project people and discovered that it was sitting in Kampala at LIFE Ministries, so brother Tom traveled there to pick it up.

Here is the report from Alex, the brother in Kampala, Uganda with LIFE Ministries, which is affiliated with the Jesus Film Project, who handed over the new projector to brother Tom. He wrote: "...we handed [the Jesus Film Projector] over to Pastor Tom. He was so happy receiving his equipment (in the photo attached Mr. Wataba prayed and handed over equipment to Pastor Tom), but also being at LIFE Ministry for the first time. He spent half a day with us, we prayed together and handed over his equipment."

Let's pray the Lord helps brother Tom as he uses the projector to show the film all across northern Uganda, so that it would yield a harvest of souls for Christ.

Brother Ibrahim wrote the following email to Len in July:

"Hello Bro. Len,

Thanks for your email. Currently I have no testimony to share but to thank God for the gift of life and enabling me to survive. Since my childhood, without parents, he has been with me all throughout these years.  And I am optimistic that he will uplift my life situation soonest. I am still searching for a job, almost almost 7 years after graduation.

Yours in Christ,
Br. Ibrahim."

In July, sister Rebecca in South Sudan wrote the following message to Len:

"Dear bro Leonard,
Praise be to the Lord.

I am grateful to share with you my testimony, about what the Lord had done for me through DTS.

After my contract ended with the organization for which I was working, I moved from a rental house and started to live in a new area where I had put up a temporary house. I began altar prayers every evening and on Sundays, where I expected local area residents to join, too. This was due to the zeal I have developed for the work of God's Word. But instead, it turned [out differently]. Parents only send their children for prayers while they remain at home. I have learned that God has given me a children's ministry.

I thank God for DTS, and the ministry He has given me.

Stay blessed.
Sis Rebecca"

Praise the Lord! What a wonderful testimony of God's faithfulness that He has given this sister a children's ministry. She says these children go home and do there what they see her doing in her prayer meetings with them. Let's pray that through these children their parents will get saved.

In July, Len received the following testimony from brother Max in Uganda:

"Being in DTS  is surely God at work in us and with us. Thanks to you, bro. Len, for allowing God to use you for the touch of our lives. The five accountability questions among us as LTG is the greatest thing that has happened in my life. As the Holy Spirit continues to direct our path, souls are getting saved and the most amazing [thing] is when I trained 20 (male) inmates on how to share to their fellow [inmates], and the Lord made 19 of their colleagues to pray to receive Jesus as they led them and I witnessed them.

Glory to God for ever more!!

Praise the Lord!

Brother Yatta in Uganda wrote in July:

"Two weeks ago, I and my LTG class went for a door to door outreach. We found one elderly person who was sick with a severe headache. According to him, he said the headache had taken almost a month. He went to the Health centre, an examination was done, and medicines were given, but there was no improvement. The pain instead intensified the most.

Therefore, when we asked him if it's ok with him for us to pray for him, he said yes. Indeed we took our time to pray for him without knowing what had happened. Three days later, that elderly person sent us a message to go back to him and this is what he told us...."My children, thank you for the prayers you made for me last time. As you were praying, I saw two arrows coming out of my head. I really didn't know how and what they are, but since then, I have not experienced the headache anymore. I had a wonderful sleep for the last three nights..."

We were filled with Joy, but we in turn told him, it's not by our own power; it's not by our own might, but all that happened is only by the power of the Holy Spirit of God. We were so grateful for what the Lord did. May you continue to keep us in your prayers.

Thank you, and may God bless you.
Brother Yatta"

Praise the Lord!

Brother Martin in Uganda wrote to Len in July saying:

"I have learned a lot from the videos on Share Jesus without Fear.

I have also learned that by sharing Jesus without fear, we help many people to come to know the Lord Jesus Christ.

Sharing the gospel is only about trying to transform new people to Christianity through the work of the Holy Spirit. Spreading the gospel is a way for us to partner with the Holy Spirit.

Most of us Christians commit the sin of silence, when we do not share the gospel of Christ!

Yours in Christ

Brother Martin"

Sister Rebecca in South Sudan needs a new employment contract, since her old one ended.

Note: Some words in the recorded testimonies above have been changed to correct the grammar and spelling, and to enhance their clarity and readability. This was done without changing the meaning.
