December Update -- 2024

Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ! We're pleased to share with you the wonderful things the Lord has been doing in our lives and ministry.

Family: In November, we celebrated Thanksgiving together as a family by giving thanks to the Lord for His bountiful blessings in our lives, and we enjoyed a wonderful, home-cooked meal together around the table, along with good fellowship.

As Christopher continues with his college studies, he is still serving as our DTS Kenya Facilitator and overall DMI IT Support Lead, working at the grocery store deli, as well as picking up some extra hours each week in the produce department there. He is still hoping to find a job in his IT desktop support field, and has his resume posted online, but there have been no bites or nibbles. Please remember him in prayer, as the Lord leads, to find a well-paying job in his field. We're still praying for his fingertips to be completely restored to normal as well.

Joseph is still in home school. He is making great progress in his math and computations this semester, as he's been working with a math tutor during this first year of high school. His woodworking class with the carpenter ended, and he has been taking a professional locksmith course online with Foley Belsaw, which is widely considered one of the most well-known and respected locksmith courses in the country. This is expected to take him about two months to go through all fifty-two lessons at his own pace, after which he will become a certified locksmith. He has already duplicated his first key using a file, which worked perfectly in the lock. So it's great to see him gaining another new skill that he enjoys.

We mentioned last month the devastation caused by the floods in Western North Carolina. Len has posted a blog called Mountain Relief, containing resources that you can partner with to help, as the Lord leads you. One correction we'd like to make is that we stated that the affected region was home to around 100,000 people, but it is actually much higher than that. The population of the 23 most commonly associated counties for the region, as measured by the 2020 U.S. Census, is 1,149,405. The region accounts for approximately 11% of North Carolina's total population.

Ministry: As we continue to administer our discipleship training school (DTS), now in its ninth year, we'd like to update you on the good things that God is doing with it. By the grace of God, we currently have disciples in four nations including Kenya, South Sudan, Uganda, and the United Kingdom.

Brother Max, who is one of our returning students in Uganda, is back with us after taking a hiatus for a few months to finish his degree. He sent the following email to Len in early December:

"Praise the Lord brother Len. I'm glad I'm back to finishing my remaining courses.

First of all I thank God for his divine protection. Many people are [spiritually] dead. When I see myself alive, I'm reminded of God's love for me.

I'm glad I have started my DTS course study, and I thank Him for allowing me to resume, so that I may complete my course and continue to serve Him with knowledge.

Finally, my wife Rebecca got healed from a fracture, and I thank God for having us come successfully to Mbale City. For tomorrow 14th 2024 is my graduation for Bachelor's degree. I thank Him for all the provisions He made for us at school and home. I will praise Him forever. Amen

Bro Max."

Praise the Lord for helping brother Max complete his Bachelor's degree and for healing his wife Rebecca from her fractured bone.

In December, Len received the following email from Grace, a pastor in Uganda, who is one of our graduates and is also our DTS National Facilitator for Uganda:

"Praise the Lord brother Len!

Our God is so good to us [all the] time! He has always done a lot in our lives and ministry!

This year has been the most difficult financially for us as a family; we have debts to pay and had no idea where to get tuition for our three daughters; Faith, Mercy and Grace who are doing their university courses, plus Peter, our son in high school. I thank God who saw us through and all of them did their end of year exams, returned home well today! At the same time we thank God who has sustained us till now, and are still trusting Him for Vicky to get a job of her course and the other's course continuation.

I take this opportunity to thank you and everyone who stands in the gap praying for us,

Much blessings to you brother,

Bro Grace."

Brother Grace continues to praise God and thank Him in the good times and the hard times. As the Lord leads you, may you remember his needs and those of his family that he is trusting the Lord for.

In the country of South Sudan, we have had two new students enroll in the DTS. One is a twenty-nine year old sister named Amani from Juba, who was saved ten years ago in 2014, when she heard the gospel from one of the preachers and decided to accept Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, having been raised Catholic. She enrolled, because she desires to be trained to win souls for Jesus Christ. This week she has been very ill with a lot of dizziness, and has been temporarily unable to carry on with her studies. But after we prayed for her, the Lord healed her, and she is feeling fine now. Praise the Lord!

The other new student from South Sudan is brother Isaac from Juba, who is twenty-two years old. He was saved five years ago in 2019, by the grace of God, after hearing the Word from an evangelist preaching. He enrolled because, in his words, "I would love to understand deeper the gospel of holiness, so that I can win souls to the Lord."

He says, "Praise God Almighty. I really thank God [that], since l started DTS, l was much inspired to know more about God, mentally sharpened, my understanding was deepened, and my spirit filled by the Word of God."

Please join us in welcoming these two new students. Meanwhile, brother Henry has agreed to be our DTS National Facilitator for South Sudan, and he's already begun serving in that role. Thank the Lord for his willingness to serve.

Sister Catherine, our student in England, shared about her ministry experiences this month:

"Dear brother Len and sister Jennifer,

Thank you for your message. That was very encouraging.

Three of us went street witnessing, and a few people got saved. Thank and praise our Lord.

Sue [my LTG partner] had pain in her head, and had passed out at work the day before. So I did just as I had learned from the videos of Charles and Frances Hunter [on How to Heal the Sick]. I prayed  with my hands on her head in Jesus Christ's authority, and in Jesus Christ's almighty name, and I felt tingling and heat in my hands like I did before. The pain disappeared and Sue felt much better. Thank and Praise our Lord.

With love in Jesus Christ our Lord,

Sister Catherine."

Praise the Lord for healing sister Catherine's LTG partner, Sue, and for saving those three people to whom they witnessed!

Len also sent out the Old News That's Still Fresh in December to pastors, elders, disciples, and laborers in the harvest in North America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia. We encourage you to read it also.

In closing, we have much to praise God for, and many opportunities for you to join us in prayer.

Praise the Lord with us for the many answers to prayer:

  5. For helping all of brother Grace's children to finish their exams and return home for school break.
  6. For helping brother Max finish his Bachelor's degree and resume his DTS training.
  7. For brother Henry's willingness to serve as our DTS Facilitator in South Sudan.
  8. For the opportunity to assist each of our students in becoming disciples of Christ and fulfilling their callings.
  9. For the Lord's leading, guidance, wisdom, and help administering the Doulos Training School (DTS), and for the progress the students are making.
Prayer needs:
  1. For the Lord to help brother Grace through the challenges he is experiencing, and to help his daughter Vicky find a good job in her field.
  2. For the Lord to help Christopher to find an excellent, well-paying job in the IT field, as well as help him with all of his many responsibilities.
  3. For the Lord to heal Christopher's fingers completely with no pain or loss of feeling.
  4. For the Lord to help our new students in their studies.

Thank you so much for your partnership in this ministry.

with love from all of us,

The Lacroixs
